Our next BOHS Endorsed Monitoring in Practice workshop will run on 12–13 August 2026 at the Stephen Burke Construction Academy near Derby!

MiP has been designed to bridge the gap between technical learning and the realities of workplace monitoring.

Using the academy’s engineering, woodworking and construction environments, delegates will work through immersive, scenario-based exercises that reflect the kinds of challenges occupational hygiene practitioners may encounter on site.

This is not simply equipment training.

It is about learning how to:

understand the working environment;
select and position equipment appropriately;
recognise factors that may affect results;
adapt when conditions change; and
explain and justify professional decisions.

The workshop is ideal for developing practitioners, those working towards CertOH, and anyone looking to refresh or consolidate their practical monitoring knowledge.

Places are limited to ensure meaningful hands-on involvement and direct support throughout the workshop. The August course is available at an introductory pilot rate.

We’re really pleased to confirm that our new Occupational Hygiene MiP (Monitoring in Practice) course has now been endorsed by BOHS.

This course is all about taking occupational hygiene learning beyond the classroom and into a more practical, hands-on environment.

We have pilot courses running in July/August at a reduced rate, with the course delivered in a real-world working environment, giving delegates a much more immersive experience! This is not a classroom based course!

It’s been designed for those who want to build practical confidence with monitoring techniques, equipment use, workplace scenarios and applied occupational hygiene skills.

Ideal for CPD, refresher training, or anyone who has completed, or is currently completing, occupational hygiene modules, working towards certification or wants to strengthen the practical side.
