On 16 March 2020, Prime Minister Boris Johnson advised everyone in the UK against "non-essential" travel and contact with others. Following this announcement, vehicle traffic and transport surveys were and are in some places considered not to be representative of normal conditions.

Covid-19 has undoubtedly caused huge impacts around the world, from the loss of loved ones, to economic and financial implications. Changes are afoot in how we live our lives.

We deal with data first and foremost. If we are going to see changes in the use of vehicles, vehicle occupancy, use of public transport and movement, we need to understand the effects through robust and thorough surveying. It is only by providing accurate data that we can help facilitate better designs for the future.

Upon reaching Obtrada’s 1st year anniversary we take this time to reflect on our various projects so far, from Film Studios to Property Developers to Leading Utilities Providers. Some of our more challenging projects have seen us deploying equipment nationwide covering over 1,500miles of travel in 45hours. We do love a challenge!

We at Obtrada have been working hard on a new way to visualise and analyse vehicle traffic data for our clients. One of the most reoccurring themes is having to manually sift though vast data tables in order to find the information needed.
