Our Project Survey Manager, Sam, and Senior Utility Surveyor, Aaron, headed up to Grantham this week to attend KTUC26, the KOREC Trimble User Conference.

The two-day event was a great chance to hear from others in the industry, see the latest surveying technology and learn how others are putting it to use in the field.

One of the highlights was getting hands-on with the new Trimble ST30 smart target, which Sam was particularly impressed with.

There was also plenty of time for networking, with the evening finishing up with the KTUC awards dinner and some casino-themed games.

A great couple of days for Sam and Aaron, with plenty to bring back to the team!

This weekend, our Engineering Director Chris is taking on the crazy challenge of an IRONMAN in Barcelona.

For those that don’t know that’s a 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike and a 26.2 mile run. We’re tired just reading that. 😂

He’s raising money for Cornwall Hospice Care and Bowel Cancer UK, alongside his friend Nick, two charities very close to their hearts.

One of our setting out engineers was on site working alongside the line-marking team, helping to make sure everything is positioned accurately and the road markings go exactly where they need to.

There have been some exciting things happening behind Datum House, our Redruth HQ.

Firstly, the recent acquisition of some additional land behind the office has given us some much-needed extra space for the team, including additional parking and storage for our ever-growing collection of survey equipment.

We’re also putting part of the site to good use as a dedicated training area for our trainees and junior team members, giving them somewhere on site to practise their surveying skills and get some hands-on experience.

There’s still plenty to do, but we’re looking forward to making the most of the new space as the Kemp team continues to grow!
