As with hopefully many Propertymark members and fellow property professionals I’ve contacted my MP sending Propertymark MP’s briefing document. I wished to ensure that Claire Coutinho MP for East Surrey is fully aware of the amends that we consider are essential to make a Renters (Reform) Bill viable and effective.

Now that the green light has finally been given for the Second Reading of the Renters (Reform) Bill, MPs and Peers must ensure that the vital role of property agents is reflected fairly.

Without enhancing the role of through regulation, it is unlikely that tenants will see improved standards, and many will be left to navigate the more complex legal environment in which they will be operating.

The car that pays for its own valeting ! Just had our Lettings dept car valeted and again and the branding worked again ! Chap tapped on the window and asked me for my card for commercial requirement. Past wash secured us a fully managed flat which is still paying for the washes 👍.

Enjoying laughter at work is so important. The joke was on me today. Hectic day end of an overflowing week I rushed back from Reigate office into my Dorking branch at 4pm files under arm to a locked front door, lights all off and this message ! All confused I opened the door to howls of laughter from the team hiding at the back of the dark office expecting me back sooner. Was a well planned tease to finish the week. What a tonic ! what a fun bunch and how lucky I am to have my team

2023 marks the 200th Anniversary of Reigate Tunnel in Tunnel Road, Reigate. This unique building is the oldest road tunnel in the UK and a truly unique landmark. Reigate Tunnel was commissioned by Earl Somers and built in 1823 by William Constable.

Reigate Business Guild are celebrating this unique anniversary with a number of events including an art competition and exhibition which will also include a history of Reigate Tunnel. Winners and Runners Up in the School categories will win art supplies and a contribution towards art supplies for their school. The Winner and Runner Up in the Over 18 category will receive an art supplies voucher.

In addition to the Reigate Tunnel 200 Exhibition taking place from June to September in Tunnel Road, Adam’s Gallery will also be choosing 10 artists from each category in the Reigate Tunnel Art Competition and will exhibit their works in Adam’s Gallery from July 1st – July 16th 2023.

The deadline for entries is 30th April. Entries do not have to comprise new works of art.

Types of work accepted – Painting, photography, collage, sculpture, printmaking, video.
