Ahead of our upcoming 'Art Laughs' comedy night later this month, we're leaning into Lee Miller's playful side...

🃏Lee loved practical jokes! Her study here at Farleys is full of strange objects of amusement and trickery, such as a convincing replica of a melting ice-cream sundae (as seen here) and French patisserie cakes make of wax and fake flies.

'She even found some plastic ice cubes containing imitation flies and on a visit to Picasso slipped one into his drink' recalls Lee's son, Antony Penrose.

Have a giggle in our gallery with . Founded by art historian and comedian Verity Babbs, this series has previously delighted audiences at the National Gallery, Pallant House and Christie's - and now its Farleys' turn. On Friday 28 August, join Verity and a line-up of wonderful emerging comics for this Surrealist edition!

I am on TV! 7pm Sat 1st August

I am soon to be on TV as part of Chanel 5’s new series Jewel of the South Coast. This Channel 5 documentary series highlights the rich heritage, traditional businesses, and scenic charm of Sussex.

The first programme will go out on Saturday 25th July at 8pm and will air weekly after this point. My contribution will be in the second episode shown on the 1st August at the revised time of 7pm.

I am not brilliant on camera and can’t for the life of me remember what we talked about. Let’s see!! Bit nervous but… I had a great day filming and the team were absolutely brilliant. Feel free to tune in.

The Long Man of Wilmington is one of the most iconic symbols of the South Downs 🙌

There are many theories about the age and history of the Long Man - from a Prehistoric fertility symbol to a 4th century Roman emperor.

One local legend claims that the Long Man of Wilmington is a memorial outlining the figure of a giant from Windover Hill who fell and broke his neck.

Another talks of a fight between the Long Man of Wilmington and another giant from Firle Beacon, which ended in the death of the tallest man to have ever lived in England.
