Well we already knew Masham was a great place to visit, but here we have it in writing!

It was my 30th birthday last weekend and, after 14/15 months of staying home and barely leaving the town in which I live, I was desperate to go somewhere and do something! Luckily, my birthday coin…

We’ve been busy at Minton Cottage during lockdowns updating furnishings etc. But we’ve not forgotten about the exterior - so it’s a new colour as well as new windows & doors. We hope you like it as much as we do!

With Masham being on the Sunday Times best places to live guide, why not book a short stay at Minton Cottage. With self catering properties opening from 12 April 🤞 it’s already looking like it’s going to be a busy year. But there is still availability for some dates in August! Drop a DM for the latest prices/availability.

Yorkshire has had one of its most prolific years ever in The Sunday Times Best Places to Live Guide - boasting the regional winner for the north of England and six other entries, including Masham. Here's what the guide's editor, Tim Palmer, had to say:

MASHAM
This traditional Dales market town is most commonly associated with sheep - but Tim feels it has developed as one of the better-connected rural enclaves.
"It's on the A1 side of the Dales, and we see it as the gateway. It's proper Dales, but you can still escape quite easily to somewhere like Ripon. It's the best of both worlds. The breweries are great, as is the sheep fair - sheep are all over the place and we were told it's not unusual to find them in your garden.
"It's not stuck in the mud, it's an active place with a community hub and Happy House, which runs creative courses. There's a proper market and the square has a butcher, greengrocer and deli. Ripon Grammar and Bedale High are good schools. It's a safe, friendly choice for families."
