We were delighted to host today’s GM Business Growth Hub Match event here at Fire Up this morning 🔥

The space was full of energy, with businesses connecting, sharing ideas, and building new relationships over tea and coffee. Exactly what these events are all about.

Good to have the Rochdale team there as well, alongside Nick Shepherd, supporting the session and speaking with businesses throughout.

A big thank you to everyone who came along and made it such a positive, engaging event. It’s always great to see the community come together like this.

✨ International Women’s Day at Fire Up ✨

With International Women’s Day coming up this Sunday, we marked the occasion today here at Rochdale Fire Up by bringing together the women who work in and around our building.

A big thank you to Deb Barnes for organising the session, and to Asma Begum from Action Together and Jayshri Mistry from Wellness By Jay for sharing their experiences in the workplace and with their jobs, and how women can prioritise their mental wellbeing.

Asma also talked about Soul Sisters: Empowering People, a local volunteer-led charity that supports people affected by Domestic Abuse through 1-2-1 and group sessions, as well as coaching and mentoring.

There was also time to catch up, hear about everyone's passions and work, enjoy some cake, and even relax with hand massages.

💜 We’re grateful to everyone who took part and shared their time today.

Earlier this week, our GM Business Growth Hub colleagues, Yvonne Sampson, Jane Jones & Anna Short, went live on Roch Valley Radio in Rochdale to talk about starting a business and the support available across the region.

Great to celebrate radio’s role in championing local stories and local entrepreneurs.

Fire Up Opened Its Doors to the BBC Morning Live Team 🎥

We recently welcomed a BBC film crew to Fire Up Rochdale, who used our space while filming a segment for BBC Morning Live on pavement parking hazards in places like Rochdale.

It was great to have the team on-site and support the production for the day. We were especially pleased to host presenter Ade Adepitan, who we managed to get a quick photo with our Reception & Centre Coordinator, Deb Barnes, pictured here.

📺 The segment aired on Friday, 6th February and is now available to watch on BBC iPlayer.
