Energy Unplugged: Powering Smarter, Greener Thinking 💡

Last week, members of our Green Team joined industry professionals to gain practical energy and sustainability cost saving tips that we can bring into our everyday business operations.

From a powerful, thought-provoking session providing an update on the latest climate context delivered by Ed Gillespie, to panel discussions on what practical energy leadership looks like, this event provided our team with reflections on the changes we can implement here at Casey.

Interactive seminars breaking down the drivers of change, gave us an insight into how to continue a cost-friendly sustainability journey in the unpredictable energy market we currently find ourselves in.

Finally, the day was finished with an inspiring keynote speech from astronaut Tim Peake, focusing on innovation and resilience. Thanks to Inspired for a seamless, well-organised event!

Great energy at the North West Construction Hub Meet the Buyer Event this week!

From a buyer’s perspective, it’s not just about capability - it’s about the people behind the business and how they approach collaboration. Lots of positive conversations and a real focus on building long-term partnerships.

Thanks to everyone who took the time to come and speak to us on the stand, it's really appreciated. We’ve got some exciting opportunities in our pipeline, creating opportunities to engage with both our current approved supply chain and new members ✨

We're proud to endorse the principles of BSI - The UK's National Standards Body (NSB)'s new standard BS 30480 Su***de and the Workplace - Intervention, prevention and support for people affected by su***de.

BS 30480 provides a practical framework to help workplaces identify su***de risk, take action, and put appropriate support in place for those affected. By becoming an early adopter, we are helping to lead the way in creating workplaces that are more aware, more prepared, and more proactive in addressing su***de.

"This is another example of our commitment to workplace health, safety and wellbeing and we are pleased to be pledging our support for BS 3480 here at Casey".

LONELINESS AWARENESS WEEK - 15 - 21 JUNE 2026

Loneliness affects more people than we realise, and it can touch any of us at any stage of life.

This Loneliness Awareness Week, we’re encouraging everyone to look out for one another, start a conversation, and make space for connection. Even small moments of kindness can make a big difference 💚

🕯️Remembering Grenfell

As we approach the anniversary of the Grenfell Tower tragedy this Sunday, we take time to pause and reflect. We remember the 72 people who lost their lives, and we hold in our thoughts the survivors, families, and communities whose strength continues to move the nation.

Grenfell changed the conversation around building safety forever. It stands as a powerful reminder of why this work matters - why safer homes, stronger standards, and accountability must always remain at the forefront.

In the years since, we have remained deeply committed to supporting fire-remediation work with care, responsibility, and humility. Every improvement made contributes to the wider commitment that a tragedy like Grenfell must never happen again.

We stand in solidarity with everyone affected.

💚 Forever in our thoughts.

National Carers Week 8 - 14 June 2026 💚

So many people are carers without ever calling themselves one. Anyone supporting a family member or friend with an illness, disability, addiction or age‑related needs is a carer - and caring can have a huge impact on day‑to‑day life, from health and relationships to work and finances. With around 5.7 million people in the UK (roughly 9%) providing care, it's far more common than we realise. Most of us will either care for someone or need care at some point in our lives.

This year’s theme, Building Carer Friendly Communities, resonates strongly with us here at Casey because our purpose is Improving Lives and supporting the communities where we live and work. We believe it's important that people recognise when they've become an unpaid carer, and feel encouraged to reach out for support.

Cooking up Community Spirit in Manchester 🥘✨

What an amazing day earlier this week at the Cracking Good Food Carnival Cook-Up in Manchester! Our team used their donated day to get stuck in, cooking alongside so many brilliant volunteers to support people experiencing homelessness across the city.

We absolutely love supporting Cracking Good Food - they're such a passionate, inspiring team, and it's always a joy to be part of the incredible work they do 💚

Together, an incredible 1,654 meals were made. We're proud that the Casey / SPARK team contributed 202 portions of a vegetarian Moroccan tagine with cous cous, and the smell drifting across Freight Island was amazing - you could really feel the love and care going into every pot.

Huge thanks to everyone involved. Community spirit at its best.

From the Classroom to Construction: Inspiring Future Careers 🏗️ ✨

We were delighted to welcome 30 pupils aged 9 - 10 from Hamer Primary School to our Casey Plant Depot as part of the school's Careers Week activities.

The visit gave students a hands-on insight into the world of construction and the many different career opportunities available across the industry.

Earlier in the week, John Walmsley our Social Impact Executive also visited the school to deliver a careers session, sharing advice and guidance about pathways into construction and helping pupils understand the wide range of opportunities available within the sector.

During their visit to the depot, the students took part in a series of engaging talks and activities delivered by members of the Casey team:

👷 Margaret France from our H&S team introduced pupils to the importance of health and safety on site, explaining the role of PPE and safety signage in keeping people safe.
🚜 Dean Tinsley, our Casey Plant Manager, delivered a fantastic session about the machinery and equipment used on construction sites and how they help shape and deliver projects.
🏗️ Genna Booth, our Social Value Manager, spoke about the many different careers within construction, highlighting that the industry offers opportunities far beyond traditional site roles.

It was fantastic to see how engaged and enthusiastic the students were throughout the visit, asking thoughtful questions and showing real curiosity about the industry.

At Casey, we are passionate about supporting early careers engagement and inspiring the next generation by helping young people understand the exciting opportunities available within construction and the built environment. By creating meaningful experiences like this, we hope to build confidence, raise aspirations and help shape future career pathways from an early age.

We’re incredibly proud to share that Casey has been recognised at the Northern Housing Awards 2026, winning the award for Excellence in Company Culture and Employee Development 🎉

This one means a lot!

At Casey, our purpose is Improving Lives - and that has to start from within. This award is a powerful endorsement that our people-first approach, investment in development, and commitment to our values are more than words, they’re embedded in how we work every day.

For us, strong relationships aren’t just about clients - they’re built on the culture we create, the support we give our teams, and the opportunities we provide for people to grow.

The judges feedback: "The judges praised Casey for creating a culture centred around learning, collaboration and continuous development. Their engagement initiatives, strong people-first values and commitment to empowering employees across the organisation made this a standout submission."

A huge thank you to everyone across the business who lives and breathes this every day. This recognition belongs to you 💚
