Ukrainian Refugee Scheme

As the details emerge regarding the refugee scheme for £350 a month I thought it worth listing a number of things be aware of if you are a tenant!

1. The house will become an HMO- this stands for house of multiple occupants.
2. Within your tenancy agreement anyone over the age of 18 has to be referenced and stated on the tenancy to be able to live at the property, not declaring this can put your tenancy agreement at risk.
3. The landlords mortgage company will not allow the property to become a HMO due to the mortgage already in place.

Baring in mind that this will make the house a HMO (house of multiple occupants) Landlords mortgage providers and landlords in general will not able to give permission for tenants to join the scheme due to these reasons. Any tenants that are seeking a person to live in the property without the landlords permission puts themselves at risk! I thought it was worth mentioning this so all tenants are aware.
