And yes — under proposed changes, that might soon be part of the rental reform.
With new rules pushing landlords away from blanket “no pets” policies,
we could start seeing something new…
👉 Pet interviews.
Because while landlords won’t be able to simply say no pets anymore,
they can still assess suitability.
Which means:
✔ Behaviour
✔ Size
✔ Breed
✔ The property itself
All still matter.
So it’s not quite a free pass for every tenant with a dog…
it’s just a more considered approach.
