​I get asked this almost every week when out doing property valuations across Sheffield, so I thought I’d share a quick update! 👇

While national headlines can sound a bit mixed, Sheffield remains a fantastic, resilient place to buy and sell.

​Prices are steady: Average house prices in Sheffield are up around 5% year-on-year, sitting at roughly £220,000.

​Buyers are active: Demand is steady, especially for well-priced family homes and starter properties. However, buyers are sensible—pricing realistically from day one is the secret to securing a quick, smooth sale right now.

​2. What about mortgages? Is it time to shop around? 🏦
With standard variable rates (SVRs) hovering over 7% and typical fixed rates sitting around the mid-5% mark, yes—it’s absolutely worth checking your options!
​If your fixed rate is coming up for renewal in the next 6 months, or if you’ve slipped onto your lender’s default rate, reviewing your mortgage early can save you serious money every single month.
