Today marked the final test day for our Iprosurv Combined A2 CofC and GVC drone training course, and what a success it was.

Throughout the course, our students demonstrated excellent piloting skills, strong operational knowledge, and the ability to apply what they had learned in real-world scenarios.

It was a real pleasure to teach such a diverse group, with learners joining us from construction, media, engineering, the MOD, and others just beginning their journey towards becoming self-employed drone operators.

At Iprosurv, we are not just a drone training provider. We are also an active drone operating company with a UK-wide pilot network of more than 120 drone operators and a client base that includes some of the UK's largest companies. This means our students benefit not only from technical training, but also from practical advice based on real industry experience, including how to build and develop a drone business.

🎉 Final Day of Our Combined A2 CofC and GVC Course 🎉

Today marks the final day of our four-day combined A2 Certificate of Competency and General Visual Line of Sight Certificate course, and it is GVC practical flight assessment day.

A huge congratulations to all our students who passed their theory exam yesterday, achieving a fantastic 100% class pass rate. Well done to every one of you.

Now it is time to bring everything together.

Over the past few days, our students have developed knowledge and practical understanding of:

• UK drone regulations and operational responsibilities
• A2 CofC and GVC operating requirements
• Flight planning and pre-flight checks
• Airspace awareness and safe operating distances
• Risk assessment and site assessment procedures
• Weather considerations and decision-making
• Emergency procedures and contingency planning
• Aircraft setup, control, and safe handling
• Practical flight manoeuvres and accurate positioning
• Professional standards expected of remote pilots

Throughout the course, they have refined their flight planning, built confidence during the practical sessions, and demonstrated some excellent piloting skills.

Today is the final stage, the GVC practical flight assessment.

The weather could not be better. Blue skies, a light breeze, and the onsite practical flight area is ready. Assessment poles are out, flags are in place, and all we need now are the students.

Good luck to everyone taking their practical assessment today. You have put the work in, now it is time to show what you can do.

Day 2 of our Combined A2 CofC and GVC course is underway, and it is fantastic to be working with a full class of future remote pilots.

Yesterday was a great first day with plenty of student engagement, discussion and practical learning.

We covered key areas including:

• Aviation knowledge
• Drone maintenance
• Exercise: First Flight

During the first flight exercise, students worked through:

• Site setup
• Take-off procedures
• Return to Home
• Safe landing

Each student then had the opportunity to use their own course training drone, supplied as part of the programme, to start building confidence with the controls in our on-site practical training area.

After the practical session, it was back into the classroom to look at the theory exams and practical flight assessment, helping students understand not only what is required, but why those standards matter in real-world drone operations.

So, what does today hold?

We start in the classroom with:

• Unit 2: Airspace Operating Principles
• Unit 3: Airmanship and Aviation Safety
• Unit 4: Human Performance Limitations

Then it is back outside to the practical flight training area for an introduction to flight exercises, including:

• Figure of 8
• Climb in, climb out and change direction
• Emergency procedures
• On-site risk assessment

We will finish the day with a Q&A session, giving students the chance to consolidate their learning, raise questions and build confidence as they continue their journey towards becoming safe, capable and responsible drone operators.

For us, drone training is not just about ticking a qualification box. It is about building safe, confident and capable remote pilots who understand aviation, operational responsibility and the role drones can play across industry.
