📢 Important Update for Landlords
The Government is introducing a new Rental Property Register across England as part of the Renters’ Rights reforms.
For landlords in Northamptonshire and the wider East Midlands, registration will open on 15th February 2027 and must be completed by 14th May 2027.
Landlords will need to register themselves and their rental properties, with an annual fee of £65 per property.
The register is expected to include key information such as:
✅ Gas Safety Certificate
✅ Electrical Safety (EICR)
✅ Energy Performance Certificate (EPC)
✅ Property and landlord details
There are also further changes ahead, including plans for the Valuation Office Agency (VOA) to take over responsibility for rent increase challenges in England.
As Propertymark members, we’re keeping up to date with the latest guidance and will continue to keep our landlords informed.
If you manage your rental property yourself and have questions about these changes, our lettings team is happy to help. Give us a call on 01536 517951 for advice or to find out more about our management services.
There’s nothing you need to do at this stage. We’ll share further updates as more details are confirmed.
