I have been Kelly at for almost my entire career. But it’s time for Kelly to be Kelly at something else now.

After 20+ years leading Rubber Cheese, I’ve made the difficult but exciting decision to move on to new adventures. It’s been one of my toughest career decisions to date, but I’m energised by what comes next.

It’s been a true privilege to lead the agency for so long, and I could not be more proud of the achievements of the team and our clients. Supporting global brands, launching groundbreaking initiatives, hosting podcasts, speaking in front of 100’s of people. I couldn’t have dreamed all this would become a reality 20 odd years ago.

It won’t surprise you to know that I have a few new challenges to keep me busy.

I am honoured to be supporting a number of inspiring agency founders, as they walk the walk I’ve now completed. I’ll be delivering mentoring and niche strategy development for agencies that crave long-term sustainable growth.

✅ Working with growing agencies, usually in year 2 onwards, that want to define and own their niche, but don’t know how to do it.

✅ Or agencies that want to hit those momentous turnover marks, but need support and guidance to get there.

You’ll hear more about these founders over the coming months, but I cannot wait to start working with the incredible team at . Charlotte and Jamie have created something really special in the interior design space, and together we’re going to have a lot of fun achieving their goals.

Spending International Women’s Day with the one I fought the hardest for.

Women are frigging amazing.

Over 8 years of infertility, ivf, miscarriage and babyloss to have our daughter, all while leading a busy agency through highs and lows, and a bloody global pandemic.

Running a business is hard. Raising children is hard. Caring for loved ones is hard. Doing it all while you’re in the thick of treatment is mind-blowingly hard.

With great floorboards already in place, bedroom 1 just needed a little love when it came to decorating. We skimmed the ceiling and prepped it for colour.

I wanted a soothing natural tone for this room, and having fallen in love with bedroom colour, I opted for Debate Club. A deep greige neutral.
I knew it would be the perfect backdrop to the natural wood furniture I’d sourced.

And it was.

The rooms are styled simply, with the Daphne table lamp bringing a little pop of colour. The multi-function desk can be used as a dressing table or if you need to catch up on a little work while you stay.

I spent hours and hours of time trawling charity shops, car boot sales, and local antique shops to furnish

And it was worth every second.

The cottage feels like home, it’s cosy and familiar.

Vintage and secondhand purchases means it has a much more sustainable footprint, and it’s saved a fair amount of budget too. Lucky for us as we needed that for the leaky roof!

Everything photographed here is vintage aside from the radiator and fridge.

Here’s what you need to know…

✅ Booking direct is usually at least 15% cheaper than Airbnb
✅ There’s a minimum 3 night stay (except for summer holidays and Christmas when it’s 7 nights)

✅ If you don’t select 3 nights, the system will tell you the accommodation is unavailable - just give it another go!

Can confirm that staging day is 1000 times easier if you don’t need a nap and no one throws up on the brand new rug.

Shout out to the grandparents for having the toddler while we spent the weekend in Norfolk staging

I’ve struggled with self doubt this year (thanks peri-menopause), but today seeing my interior design come together made me realise, I can actually do this - and do it bloody well!

Leaks.
If only I meant the vegetable kind smothered in cheese - trust me, they’re good.

While we spent the night at Audley End watching Noel Gallagher in the driving rain, took a battering from Storm Antoni and sprung a leak in the roof that halted the bathroom refit.

The leading around the chimney stack needs replacing and the felt is about 50 years old and rotten in a few places, so we’re taking the opportunity to replace it all now before the weather gets even worse this year. Luckily we’ve not had to wait long to get the work booked.

We’ve also got a leak in the kitchen to fix and a wasps nest to say bye, bye, bye to. These old houses always throw up a few surprises don’t they?!

You know what is good though? That gorgeous Norfolk red brick exposed and looking fine in the bathroom. Wait till you see the checkerboard tiles with it…
