We’re on the lookout for new volunteers to join our team!

Could you spare a few hours to make a real difference? We’re looking for friendly volunteers to help us prepare lunch and evening meals across our Drop In services and Night Shelter:

Drop In Volunteers – Lunch Prep (Shifts run 1:45 PM – 4:00 PM)

Monday Drop In (Fortnightly)

Tuesday Drop In (Fortnightly) – Currently fully vacant! Perfect opportunity to sign up with a friend.

Wednesday Drop In (Fortnightly)

Thursday Drop In (Fortnightly)

🌙 Night Shelter Volunteers – Evening Meal Prep (Shifts run 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM)

Monday Night Shelter (Weekly)

Friday Night Shelter (Fortnightly)

Whether you can give a couple of hours every week or every other week, your support in the kitchen makes a huge impact for those who need it most.

It’s Small Charity Week!

At Open Door St Albans, we are proud to be a small charity making a big impact right here in St Albans. 💙💛

Being small means we are deeply rooted in St Albans. We know the people we help, and we see the direct power of your support every single day.
From funding our vital Safer Streets outreach worker to providing almost 5,000 hot meals a year at the Bricket Road Homeless Hub, your kindness creates real change for those affected by homelessness.

Running a small charity isn't always easy, but with our incredible team of over 100 volunteers, we help ensure that nobody has to face homelessness alone. We give a listening ear and empower lives beyond homelessness.
