These are just lovely 😍 did you know that St Ives has pulled in many artists in times gone by, they say its because of how much light surrounds St Ives and so much sea reflects it- i know all this because when my dad was doing an art degree, I was tasked with typing his thesis on The Light of St Ives.
After I had typed it, as a person with little artistic talents I recognised how the less artistic are slightly blind to the beauty that surrounds us all, and I have noticed more and more since recognising the light that surrounds this town, and how it inspires the art, and these lovely pictures from visitors to the The Sloop Inn are a fine example of how a place can inspire art.

Have you ever been to St Ives for New
Year?

There is nothing like it!

If you do decide you are coming, be warned ⚠️ if you step outside after dark on 31st December in a pair of Jeans and a hoody people will ask you "are you doing food delivery?" 💁‍♀️

Because tonight Cilla, you are going to be wearing fancy dress, unless you have come all this way to stay indoors?

This is the most incredible New Years Eve, our first was the Millenium and we met the Millennium bug 🐛 🐛 🐛 and fought with pirates🤺, we were blocked from passing lanes without first performing a funky dance 👯, were followed by secret agents 🕴and watched a hot nurse👄 with a beard👀 climbing a street light, the streets are full, the atmosphere is peak and everyone makes such an effort 👌 at midnight there is an incredible 😲 fire works display 🎇🎆 on the pier with everyone gathering along the harbour front and outside The Sloop Inn

So getting planning. Go big with the fancy dress, be ready to interact with others who you meet especially if you are the same person 😆

Its a great night out for the family and because you are close you can easily pop back to Coasters House - St Ives, Cornwall for a warm up or a tv break, the party 🥳 is on till the early hours and magical for the kids to see all the amazing outfits and experience a real street party by the sea. If you bring the grandparents then you might even get a few hours to go out without them and the kids 😆 🤣

Our house is idea for a large family of four adults and 3 kids over 2 floors.

The first floor has a double bedroom with an en-suite wetroom and a twin room with an ensuite shower room perfect for grandparents 👌 and two children.

Upstairs on the 2nd floor with a main door at the top of the stairs for privacy from the rest of the house is the ultimare family suite that has views of the sea and St Ea church with a family bathroom, a single bedroom with door for privacy and the kingsize bed area with a large smart Tv, perfect for mum, dad and the youngest of the tribe.

If you decide to book to stay its a good idea to reserve tables now if you want to grab dinner before the party, or if you want to book a spot for New Years Day breakfast/brunch/lunch or dinner, you could try

Or grab some pasties and pop to the co-op for sides and puddings and have a delightful Cornish inspired family dinner around the table.

The New Years Day Swim from St Ives To Hayle takes place at midday all welcome and deffo refreshes the soul, and the surf will be up if the 🌊 are willing.

Book a spa at Harbour Hotel And Spa St. Ives or take a drive out to St Michael's Mount then onto Logan's Rock Inn and down to Lands' End

Or find a stone circle or ancient building check out Ancient Stone Bothering for all the low down on mystical places to visit or how about Minack Theatre Cornwall or go for a lovely Coastal walk from St Ives To Lelant or Hayle.

You can stay for 4 days or more and you can book on most platforms or direct with Cornish Riviera Holidays who will be taking reservations up to New Year so if you fancy an October 🎃, November break🎇 or a quieter week in December to get some gorgeous Christmas 🎄gift shopping 🛍 for friends and family its much nicer than fighting the crowds in a shopping centre, infact its a completely different and much calmer experience!
