Argus double / triple Flood Dam Vs Sandbag dam

An Argus double or triple Flood Dam at 3’X50’ in size can be deployed by two people in a couple of minutes and is pumped full of water to provide an effective flood barrier. (the setup takes less than 30 minutes).

Clean-up time and cost benefits of using the Flood dams are greater than the historic sandbag alternative, especially when the long lifetime re-use of the Double/Triple dam are factored into the cost.

In contrast, the original flood control method would be the use of sandbags.

As an example a 3’ high sandbag d**e would require approx. 30 sandbags per linear foot. Using conventional filling and placing methods, a rate of 12 bags per man-hour can be applied, taking around 125 man-hours to build a 50’ long d**e 3’ high, and in addition a cost of approx. £2.50 per sandbag. (they are 1 time use only)

Additionally with sandbags there is a disposal cost and regulations for disposal to be followed.

Argus Air B**gs - For spill containment and civil/municipal construction.

The air-inflated Air B**gs are made to friction fit to the inside of a culvert or pipe to prevent the passage of liquids during construction or during emergency spill response.

Air B**gs are made with high strength industrial coated PVC fabric, they are compact for easy handling or storage, easily inflated with a hand or foot operated pump, reusable and repairable.

Each Air B**g comes standard with a 3/4” fill/drain fitting, pressure relief valve, valve stem and tie-off loop fixed to both ends.

The Argus Double Dam & Argus Triple Dam barriers from Argus are water-inflated dams that quickly deploy and are filled with any available source of water, are very friendly where environmental impact is a concern.
