π³ Tree update π³
Hey everyone! Remember that incredible ash tree I stumbled upon in the countryside around Ripon? Well guess what? This incredible tree has just received official recognition from the The Woodland Trust as an ancient tree! ππ In fact, it's only 10cm away from being crowned the champion ash tree of Yorkshire, boasting an impressive girth of 6.5m! ππ³ Tree number is 242455 for anyone who wants to have a look at it. The tree is doing really well and showing no signs of ash dieback!
To celebrate this remarkable achievement and the vital importance of preserving our ancient and veteran trees, I urge you all to join me in supporting the Woodland Trust's Ancient Tree Inventory. ππ³ By adding these awe-inspiring natural wonders to the inventory, we can actively contribute to their conservation and ensure their existence for generations to come.
Ancient and veteran trees hold immense value for our environment and cultural heritage. They provide precious habitats for wildlife, enhance air quality, and serve as living links to our past. π±πΏ
Sadly, these magnificent trees face numerous threats from urbanization, pollution, and the ever-changing climate. Now more than ever, we must rally together and take a stand to protect these living treasures.
