Rowston Holiday Park, August Bank Holiday Progress Update.

The continued dry weather (until today!) has helped our contractors make excellent progress with the redevelopment of Rowston Holiday Park. All Phase 1 pitches apart from 4 outlying ones have now been poured, with a good number also having all the utilities installed.

We have been encouraged by the level of interest from potential Caravan owners at this early stage with a good number of pitches being reserved already, so if you are looking for a new Park and Holiday Home for next season, do call in and have a chat with our team. The Sales Office is now open Wednesday- Sunday.

Our Contractors are making excellent progress with the redevelopment of Rowston Holiday Park, with over 30 concrete bases now in place, and utilities and drainage works following close behind.

Our Sales Office is now open Wednesday- Sunday and we would be pleased to see anyone who might be interested in reserving a Pitch for next season.

A major incident was narrowly avoided last night, after a disposable barbecue being used on the foreshore at Glen Beach set light to the neighbouring scrub on the edge of Rhode Wood, which along with the adjoining plantations, runs to over 100acres.

Fortunately, thanks to some alert members of the public on the beach who called the Fire Brigade, and a very prompt response by Firefighters from Tenby Fire Station who were able to bring the blaze under control, minimal damage was caused.

During the current dry conditions it is extremely irresponsible to be lighting any sort of fire or disposable barbecue in the countryside. We would appeal to local vendors of these items to restrict their sale until we have had some rain to reduce the fire risk.

Our thanks as ever go to Gwasanaeth Tân ac Achub CGC / MAWW Fire and Rescue Tenby Station for their prompt and professional response.

UPDATE - We are delighted to say that Trubloc Ltd have very kindly offered the use of a lorry to move everything, Thanks to Whitney and the team for their help.

Having advertised these Blocks and Tiles for sale a few weeks ago, we were approached by Redberth Croft who were in need of paving materials for a new accessible garden they are building. We are very pleased to have agreed to donate the paving blocks, as well as the roof tiles to enable them to re-roof some of their buildings, to help with the fantastic work they are doing there. Please do click through to their pages and take a look.

We just now need some transport to get them from Scar Farm Holiday Park in Saundersfoot to Redberth Croft, it is only a little over 5 miles for an LGV, but there are 35 pallets of blocks and 16 pallets of roof tiles...

So we are looking for a local haulier / builders merchant / quarry operator or anyone else with suitable vehicles to chip in and help us get these items to where they are needed. A lorry with crane that can load and unload itself would be ideal, but if not we can arrange for a forklift for them to be loaded and unloaded.

Please share amongst the Pembrokeshire Community, and if anyone is able to help, please email the Estate Office on [email protected] and don't worry the tiles will be restacked for transport!

Like many others in the Community, we were surprised and saddened to hear of the immediate closure of ‘The Hean Castle Inn’.

Since the news broke, we have received numerous enquiries from interested future lessee’s as well as being named as the Landlords in comments on both Wales Online and the Tenby Observer’s social media.

For clarification, the Estate is not, and has never been, the owner of the Public House which bears our name, since it was changed from ‘The Picton Castle’ many years ago.

We wish Suzannah and her family the best of luck as they move on to the next chapter in their lives, and thank them for all they have done for the community during their tenure of this historic building.

Just 5 weeks since we made a start on the reconstruction of Rowston Caravan Park, our local Main Contractors Evan Pritchard Ltd, are making outstanding progress, with all the topsoil stripped for Phase 1, 11 concrete bases poured, and services and utilities starting to go in.
Unfortunately, Park Reception is currently out of commission and visits to the Park are not possible for the time being, but enquiries for pitches for next season can be made via our website www.rowstonholidaypark.wales We have a temporary office being put in place in the next 14 days for anyone who would like to view large scale plans, and discuss the development in person with a member of our team.
