Yew Tree Cottage Yew Tree Cottage is a holiday cottage in West Ayton Yew Tree is a holiday cottage situated on the edge of Scarborough, North Yorkshire.

It has been completely refurbished in 2017 as it has been transformed from a loving family home to a quaint holiday location for others to enjoy. Believed to one of the oldest cottages in West Ayton it is surrounded by the beautiful countryside of the North York Moors National Park, and yet just two miles inland from the seaside and the Yorkshire Heritage Coast.

Staithes, or Steers, as the locals call it. ⚓

The name comes from the Old English word for "landing-place". The local pronunciation is a traditional dialect feature, and the name "Steers" is sometimes used in writing to reflect how residents speak it.
