I’m very excited to announce I’m starting my estate agent’s qualification. This time next year The Coast and County Group will be accredited with the NAEA (National Association of Estate Agents) I see it as a natural progression for the business and something I’m really excited about. Being self employed is about expansion and growth, both professionally and personally and being accredited by a nationally recognised association is great for myself on a personal level but also for the business.

It’s been a busy couple of weeks at The Coast and County Group. I had the absolute pleasure of presenting twice in as many weeks, once to SSAS Entrepreneur Network with the awesome Doug James and once to our own networking group WIN Networking Scarborough. We’ve been really busy in the office too, supporting landlords, dealing with difficult tenants, onboarding new landlords, viewings and CPD on growth mindset and property management. I’m very fortunate to work with some amazing people, not least Neil Street-Bailey, who’s a fantastic teacher and very patient!!

A bit off piste today.

With all the negative things going on in the world today, recently I’ve been making time for all the amazing things I have in my life. I’m currently reading The Magic by Rhonda Byrne, the same author who wrote The Secret. It’s a 28 day reset and puts you on a month long gratitude journey.

Sir Isaac Newton said “for every action, there’s an equal and opposite reaction” and it applies to gratitude. The more gratitude you give, the more you receive. It’s about being grateful for the things you already have as well as about the things you want in your life. I’m only on day 6 and I’m definitely seeing results!

My question, this beautiful sunny morning is, what are you grateful for today? I’d love to hear the things you’re grateful for!

Quick Question.
Who knows someone about to have their property repossessed?

Not many I’ll bet. But did you know that nearly 500,000 people face the threat of repossession every year? And the reason not many of us know someone facing repossession is because people don’t want us to know. It’s a taboo subject. It’s pride. It’s embarrassment. Repossession goes hand in hand with debt and mental health.

The reason I’m telling you all this? Last week I completed my official training to become a Repossession Rescue Supporter and I’m so proud to be part of this group of people that I wanted to tell you a bit more about it.

For so long, property investors have been branded as money grabbing. We’ve all seen the homemade, handwritten, felt tip signs attempting to grab vulnerable people’s attention, to buy their property. When people are facing repossession, they often feel that’s their only option.

Myself, and fellow supporters of Repossession Rescue have pledged to always act in the best interests of the people we’re helping. To sign post the help available to people and to help people realise there might be other options out there.

I joined the network having had personal experience of repossession. Whilst my parents didn’t quite come to have our home repossessed, they did come very close and one of my dearest friends went through it and still suffers from the trauma today; and it’s not just home owners that suffer in silence, not knowing where to turn, it’s landlords as well.

If you know, or think you might know someone in this situation, please, please talk to them, it might be the help that they need.
