After a long and frustrating dispute process, I’m pleased to say that all outstanding monies owed to my business have now been fully returned in my favour.
As a small business, every payment represents hard-earned time, labour, materials, and commitment to delivering quality work. It’s disappointing that despite carrying out works professionally and trying every reasonable avenue to resolve matters amicably, I was ultimately forced to pursue the matter through formal channels and prepare for Small Claims action.
Thankfully, the evidence spoke for itself and the correct outcome was reached.
This post also serves as a reminder to other tradespeople and small business owners — always protect yourselves:
• Keep all communication in writing
• Save invoices, photos, surveys, and agreements
• Don’t be intimidated into backing down when you know your work and conduct have been professional
• And most importantly, don’t allow dishonest individuals to take advantage of hardworking businesses
I’d like to thank everyone who supported and advised me throughout the process. Now it’s time to move forward and focus on what we do best — delivering quality workmanship for genuine customers🫶🏻.
