One of my pupils found some Roe Deer tracks at a small man made pond on our farm. We placed a trail camera to see the Deer come in to drink. Turns out it is a brother and sister twin from this year. We were suprised to find a Buzzard coming for a bath too.

In our Steading courtyard we have a patch of Echium vulgare - Viper's Bugloss which we allow to seed in the gravel. Most years it brings in all sorts of insects to nectar on the striking blue flowers. Hummingbird hawk-moth - Macroglossum stellatarum is one of those. This year has been particularly good for them; we had five a few weeks ago. Most days you can see one or two feeding. Not bad for a moth which has come all the way from Southern Europe for a visit to our farm.

We have several pairs of Geese nesting at the farm. One pair of Canada Geese - Branta canadensis and at least one pair of Greylag Geese - Anser anser. The local Otters sometimes remove the eggs for an omelette or two.
