That exciting moment when the garden disappears under a mountain of beautiful new kitchen units, doors & worktops! 😍 We love organising these deliveries and seeing everything arrive safely… but there’s always that little “oh sht”* moment when we realise it all actually has to be fitted! 😂💪

Nothing beats that buzz when the lorry turns up and your new kitchen starts taking over the garden! 😍
We love this part — seeing all the beautiful units, doors, worktops and accessories show up in one big wave. But let’s be honest… there’s always that little moment of “Right… we’ve actually got to fit all of this!” 😂💦
Huge thanks to the team for organising everything and to our brilliant clients for trusting us with their project. Now the fun (and the sweat) really begins!

Cracking start to the week for The Bright Space Company… literally 👀🔨

We’ve started work on this wall repair project where significant cracking and movement has caused the plaster to split right through in several places. Before any decorating can begin, the priority is making sure everything is properly stabilised and repaired the right way — not just filled over.

Our process on jobs like this includes:
✔️ Removing all loose and blown plaster
✔️ Stabilising the affected areas
✔️ Opening and reinforcing the cracks
✔️ Repairing and filling in stages for strength and durability
✔️ Sanding and preparing the walls ready for decoration

On this particular project, one of the walls is quite wonky and uneven, so after repairs we’ll also be applying a high-grade lining paper to help achieve a much smoother, more uniform finish before painting.

It’s always tempting to patch and paint, but preparation is what makes the finish last 💪

Progress update on this one 🔨

This was a large open space that just wasn’t working for the family day-to-day, so we’ve started to break it up with new studwork to create more practical, usable areas.

It’s a great example of how you don’t always need more space – just better use of the space you already have. By creating defined zones, it gives everyone room to relax, work, or spend time together without it all feeling on top of each other.

Next up: first fix, boarding, and getting everything ready for the next stage of the transformation.

Progress already 💥

Just a couple of days after our last post and things are moving quickly on this project. The old wall is down and the space is starting to open up—completely changing the feel of the room already.

This is always one of the most satisfying stages… when you go from “what was here before?” to “this is going to be something special.”

Next up: building new stud walls, making good, and getting everything ready for the new layout 👀

Big changes starting here 👀🔨

This kitchen is about to get a serious transformation… we’re knocking this wall down (with some expert help from our brilliant builder friend Paul Clarke 🙌) to open it up into the dining room on the other side.

The plan? A much bigger, brighter open-plan kitchen/dining space – plus creating a separate, cosy front living room. Best of both worlds 👍

A nice little project finished this week with a big impact 👌

We built a bespoke oak step using timber the homeowners already had – a great way to reuse quality materials and add something unique to the space. It’s now a really clean, practical feature that ties in beautifully.

The decorating really brings it all together:
– Feature walls in Farrow & Ball Mere Green (flat matt)
– Walls in Wevet
– Ceilings and woodwork in Wevet for a crisp, seamless finish

Love how the deep green works with the natural oak and clean white tones – simple but properly sharp.

Sunday Sessions have changed from my younger days.

These days it’s less about late nights and more about pulling out all the stops to get a job over the line.

This weekend’s effort: transforming a bedroom in the prestigious Adelaide Crescent while the clients were out of town. A full refresh using Farrow & Ball Mere Green on the walls, paired with Wevet across the ceiling and woodwork to keep things light, calm, and beautifully balanced.

Love how this one’s come together 👌
