We're saying a fond farewell to our summer placement student, Georgia Davey, as she heads back to University of Plymouth to complete her final year studying Ocean Exploration & Surveying.

Over the past eight weeks, Georgia has gained valuable office-based experience within a commercial hydrographic surveying environment, giving her insight into the industry beyond the classroom and a better understanding of what a career in hydrographic surveying can offer.

It's been a pleasure having Georgia as part of , and we wish her every success for her final year at university. We look forward to seeing where her career takes her.

Precise survey data starts long before a vessel arrives on site.

Sister company Survey & Engineering Projects recently performed a thorough laser scan of MV Pulsar using a FARO Focus 150, with multiple scans completed across the vessel to capture the exact position of each sensor relative to the centre of gravity. Those offsets feed directly into our processing pipeline, ensuring every dataset we collect is geometrically consistent and traceable back to a known reference.

📸 Close-quarters work in Runcorn, where used the Unipact USV paired with a NORBIT i79h multibeam echosounder to carry out a detailed asset inspection survey.

The compact, autonomous platform was ideal for accessing the confined dock environment, capturing high-resolution data on underwater walls, structures, and the dock bed in areas that a conventional survey vessel simply couldn't reach.

The result is a precise, georeferenced picture of asset condition, giving owners and engineers the information they need to plan maintenance, manage structural risk, and make confident decisions about their infrastructure.

The DJI Zenmuse L3 combines a next-generation LiDAR module with dual 100 MP RGB mapping cameras in a single payload, giving the team the ability to capture dense point clouds and high-resolution imagery in one pass.

RTK positioning delivers centimetre-level accuracy straight from the aircraft, while rugged weather protection keeps operations on schedule when conditions are less than ideal.
