***WEEKLY UPDATE***
GARRISON CIRCUS
Sama are excited to report that the pre application process has commenced on the redevelopment of four plots of land on the edge of Birmingham city centre. Working with architects tp bennett, planners Carter Jonas, and supported by BWB Consulting Ltd and PRP, a mixed residential proposal has been developed. The site fronts the A4540 Middleway, occupying a prominent position of corner of the Garrison Circus roundabout. Our project team has already had a positive first site visit with the Birmingham City Council planning officers.
The proposals seek to create a new mixed-use neighbourhood, including a new central heart, and comprehensive public realm improvements. The scheme includes buildings up to 35 storeys in height, and provide over 850 (a mix of 1, 2 and 3 bed) Build to Rent apartments, together with upwards of 400 Purpose Built Student Accommodation beds; bring much needed regeneration of unused and dilapidated industrial buildings across the site.
Garrison Circus is within a short walk of Birmingham city centre, close to the exciting Digbeth area, and well located to university campuses, local amenities and attractions, and excellent transport links. The scheme lies within the Curzon masterplan area, benefitting from HS2 and emerging development and investment in this area. Sama sees the Garrison Circus scheme as a forerunner for future expansion and investment in the surrounding area.
