Today at Whitesands. Beautiful scenery and a refreshing breeze. Weather said wet but it’s dry and sunny 🌞

Whitesands is 15 min drive away. Best surf and play in the bay waves. Cafe and more inc pop up sauna!

One of my very favourite walks, as many people know, is around Whitesands Bay. Visiting the ancient burial chamber is a wonderful way to begin the circular route. Keep an eye out for the wild ponies as they move across the landscape like magical nymphs. Along the way, you can spot the circular rock formations marking where people once made their camps and homes.

There’s a real sense of history here—you can almost feel the echoes of the past—while at the same time enjoying the positive, fresh energy that Pembrokeshire has to offer. x

There is a strange spooky almost quality about my St David’s, Whitesands walk today. The smells of the sea and fauna are enhanced maybe due to the moisture arriving after the drought ?

We do this walk most days all year round and today it’s like No other before which delights me. Approx 15 mins drive from the cottage. Whitesands is a must to visit.

Solva car park is FREE during the winter. Charging starts 1st March, but you can still park free for 30 minutes. Solva’s shops, galleries, cafes and pubs are great places to spend a rainy day. If there’s a break in the weather you can get in a quick blustery walk to the quay or up the Gribbin

A big shout-out to the Potter shop next to the cottage. Bobby and Colin have been creating beautiful ceramics and selling vintage treasures for over 30 years. These gorgeous seagull earrings caught my eye months ago and were kindly gifted to me for my birthday the other week. I absolutely adore them and Bobby’s talented eye for finding and creating such speciaWindow On WalesouSeaforth DesignsvBay View Stores, Solvathe local shops. There’s so much to discover, from Bobby’s wonderful collection to the creative church opposite, Window on Wales, Seaforth Designs, Bay View Stores, and many more.

Solva is far more than just a harbour—it’s a vibrant, creative hub filled with talent, character, and life. Every corner offers something unique, making it a truly special place to visit.

Some more flash back images. Just wish I had more. The kitchen used to a private lounge for the bed and breakfast couple and the dining room was a very small kitchen. We opened it all up and did a complete renovation taking it from a very wet damp derelict cottage to what you see today.

If the car park by the harbour is full, you can park opposite . Buy an ice cream and stroll down - there are paths avoiding the main road with lovely views. It takes just over 10 minutes - although a bit longer on the way back up!
