Autumn might be settling in, but there's still plenty of colour to be found around the park!

From delicate white blossoms and vibrant pink flowers to colourful berries and the last blooms of the season, our gardens and hedgerows are still putting on quite a display.

It's one of the lovely things about Webland Farm. Every season brings something different, and sometimes it's the little details that make this place so special. 🌿

One of the things we love about Webland Farm is just how much there is to discover nearby. So, we’re starting a new Explore from Webland series, sharing some of our favourite places for a day out around South Devon and Dartmoor.

And for our first stop, we’re heading to Totnes.

Just a short drive from Webland, Totnes is one of those towns where you can happily arrive without much of a plan and spend a few hours exploring.

🏘️ 𝗪𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗵𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗰 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗲𝘁𝘀
Start with a stroll along the High Street, where colourful buildings, independent shops, galleries and cafés sit alongside some fascinating historic architecture. Look out for the distinctive Eastgate arch and clock spanning the street.

🛍️ 𝗛𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗮 𝗯𝗿𝗼𝘄𝘀𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗲𝘁
Totnes has a long history as a market town, and the Market Square is still at the heart of it. Depending on when you visit, you'll find everything from local produce and food to crafts, antiques and vintage finds.

🏰 𝗖𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗯 𝘂𝗽 𝘁𝗼 𝗧𝗼𝘁𝗻𝗲𝘀 𝗖𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗹𝗲
A short walk from the High Street takes you to the remains of Totnes Castle. This classic Norman motte-and-bailey castle sits above the town, with views across Totnes and the surrounding Devon countryside.

🌿 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝗱𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗥𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗗𝗮𝗿𝘁
After exploring the town, wander down towards the river. It's a lovely change of pace, with boats on the water and walks along the riverside — and a good spot to stop and watch the world go by.

☕ 𝗔𝗻𝗱, 𝗼𝗳 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲, 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗲…
Totnes certainly isn't short of independent cafés, pubs and places to eat, so we'd recommend leaving a little time for an unplanned stop along the way.

That's one of the pleasures of having Webland as your base. You can spend the morning relaxing at the park, decide you fancy going somewhere for the afternoon, and have places like this waiting to be explored.

A hedgehog tucked among the greenery, a young deer beside a lodge, birds dropping by the decking for a snack, and a lovely canine companion enjoying the comforts of a holiday home — each photo captures a little piece of life at Webland.

Sometimes it’s the simplest moments that stay with us: watching the birds over a morning cuppa, spotting movement in the hedgerow, or enjoying a quiet afternoon with your dog by your side. 🌿

🚜 A new arrival at Webland Farm! 🌿

Jaye has a shiny new bit of kit to work with – our new John Deere mower is on its way! 💚💛

Keeping Webland looking its best is a big job, and investing in the right equipment means we can maintain the grassed areas around the park more efficiently and to a consistently high standard.

It’s another small but important part of the ongoing investment we’re making into the park – and we think Jaye might be rather pleased with his new toy! 😄

You’ll no doubt spot it out and about around Webland very soon. 🚜🌳

A big thanks to Jaye for sourcing this and for making the journey over to Saltash to assess it and collect it. 👏

A little behind-the-scenes update from Webland Farm

After a few mower troubles last week, Jaye is back out on the grass today putting a possible replacement through its paces, kindly supplied on hire from Shinners Bridge Garden Machinery.

With Webland's large open spaces and some fairly challenging slopes, finding the right machine is important — not just to get the grass cut, but to help us keep the park looking consistently well cared for throughout the season.

It’s good to see the grass looking freshly cut again, and we’ll be keeping the momentum going over the rest of the week.

Jaye will be continuing with the grass cutting across the park, as well as tackling more of the hedge cutting as we gradually work our way through the grounds.

A big thank you to Shinners Bridge Garden Machinery for helping us out on short notice, and to Jaye for getting stuck in with this new machine.
