We are super proud and very excited to announce that we have been shortlisted as Finalists in the Visit Devon Tourism Awards 26/27: Self-Catering Accommodation of the Year.

These are prestigious awards with rigorous selection and judging criteria and as always we're up against some other incredible businesses who we look forward to catching up with at the awards night on Thursday 3rd December....time to get out of the wellies and get the posh outfits out again ☺️ (Farmer Rogers favourite bit!)

A big thankyou to everyone involved and huge luck to all of the finalists in each category ( there's quite a few..its going to be a good night!)

WHAT an incredible Summer!!

A quick look back at what has simply been an amazing couple of months

Wall to wall sunshine, fabulous farmers, LOADS of activities, animal experiences , BBQ'ing' & Hot 'tubbing' PLUS an eclipse and a big butterfly count thrown in!!. There was also a tourism mention in both The Times & The Telegraph and a brilliant self catering award which we were thrilled to receive.

To top it all off today we celebrate 22 years of running North Hayne Farm.. PLUS even more importantly...its Truffle Pig's 12th birthday.

If ALL that doesn't call for some fizzy and cake later tonight at feeding time then I dont know what does!! 😆

Thankyou to all of our wonderful families who have stayed this summer, to our family for their ongoing support and especially to our brilliant farm team who work so hard to make this all possible. X

Whats next?...well..a quick holiday for us in September !! and then back to it for our Autumn events with lots more fun planned.🍂 p.s...just 1 space remaining for our popular Bonfire weekend on 6th November !!

Exciting news!!!...Our fabulous donkey Stripey Legs is now helping Roobarb with the donkey rides....yayy ,what a superstar.

He's very proud of himself (quite rightly) AND of his rather special certificate awarded this morning after successfully completing his riding training.

Training is never hurried here..it is led by our donkeys needs and own behaviours. Stripey began his in 2025 showing instant readiness but 2026 has been HIS year to really shine.

He is such a friendly chap and his lovely calm temperament reminds us a lot of Barney ( our 1st donkey who some of you may remember?) and equally helps make him a dependable donkey who can really help our more nervous 'riders' feel confident.

Thankyou to all our team and to our willing experienced 'riders' who helped Stripey Legs feel great today ...there'll be no stopping this boy now 💙 xx

We are all feeling very very proud and will spend the weekend celebrating in style and popping the corks ( because one cork is never enough!)

Huge thanks to Emma Griffiths from NW Autism & SEND Consultancy for some wonderful PDA staff training this weekend!

We are now officially PDA Advocate accredited.

We covered so much and have hopefully learned lots more about Pathological Demand Avoidance, but its fair to say that the 'Lego Therapy' session was Farmer Rogers favourite bit!..but then he got to be the 'builder'!

Emma has kindly left us 4 packs too!, which will be available for all our families to borrow from reception and are a great family activity.

If youre interested in talking to us about PDA and staying with us on the farm and how it can benefit then please feel free to contact us.

On a separate note, we have some very happy animals this week now the temperature has cooled a bit!! Thankyou to ALL our 'farmers' last week who despite the heat still turned up to all our feeding sessions ( and in-between!) to help care for them all...you did a great job!

30/05/2026

Wow! Well that was quite some Whitsun Spring Bank School Holiday...

Kicking off the week with a mention in the Telegraph ,the week just got better and better.

The sun did not stop shining and even the heat did not stop our farmers, who were superstars as always and caring, kind and patient with our fabulous (but rather hot)animals!!

We fitted in lots though..

Farm hands club for our older farmers, Free Rangers crafting and forest games for the younger ones, a Bat Walk with Farmer Roger, LOTS of bookings for our new and very popular BBQ and Stargazing lodge and of course LOADS of animal handling and special treats and Hot Tub ( or rather cool tub!) relaxation.

Our clever ducks managed to hatch 12 ducklings that entertained everyone, 4 chicks joined our furry team too and so chick handling was added to our 'Activity of the Day programme, alongside lamb walks& bottle feeds, goat excursions and other fun!

A well done to our wonderful donkey Roobarb who offered rides each morning and of course to Pepper goat who was his usual entertaining self! 😄
On top of ALL the fun 'on site' our 'families' also enjoyed great days out at many of North Devons spectacular beaches, as well as trying out some of the areas great pubs, restaurants and attractions.

We had many tears from our farmers as they left today 😥 BUT with so many re-bookings we'll take that as a huge win and the highest of achievements 🥰🏆
Thankyou everyone. Your wonderful enthusiasm for 'the farm' is very special to us and all our team.

UPDATE * A MASSIVE £410 RAISED. THANKYOU TO EVERYONE WHO HELPED SUPPORT FARMER ROGER ,ROOBARB AND National Autistic Society 💙💙👏

Roger and Roobarb are doing extra walking this week!

Dressed in his best colours and walking over 5k, Roobarb is excited to be helping us raise valuable funds for Autistic people and their families...a long term passion of ours as many of you know.

Autistic people can face many sensory challenges, experience intense anxiety around unexpected change and can struggle in social situations sometimes resulting in shutdowns or meltdowns.

The spectrum is wide but small adjustments and acceptance without judgement, can really make a difference.
When we first started on our own pledge to do this, 1 in 700 people were diagnosed Autistic, this is now recognised as 1 in 100!... thats more than 700,000 people in the UK alone
( acknowledgement to NAS for these recent stats)

So a big grateful thankyou to anyone who can donate a few pounds...Farmer Rog and Roobarb will get a shiny medal and certificate from if we can raise over £100!...be pretty brilliant though to smash this

Looking forward to another week of school hols ahead but a quick peak at what has so far been a fabulous Easter.

Really brilliant to see so many returning families who have enjoyed all of the fun and even the weather did us proud.

The launch of our new BBQ and Stargazing lodge continues to be quite amazing, with bookings every night so far through the holidays and with wonderful feedback, thankyou to you all. You know its a winner when it starts to get bookings for 2027 and 2028!!

A huge thanks as always our incredible 'team' ( cottage, farm and furry!!) ...they make it all possible and not forgetting the hugest of special mentions and thanks to our wonderful BIG YELLOW who joins us for his last egg hunt of the year this Wednesday.

A few pics to enjoy of our farm activities so far..PLUS only 5 spaces remaining now for Easter 2027 so message us ASAP if you'd like to join us next year. X

⭐️For those of you still keen to meet Nova and Stella ( our 2026 lambs) we have Mrs Tiggywinkle and Peter Rabbit cottages available for the May Day bank holiday weekend on Friday 1st May...lambs on leads and bottle feeding will be a key feature Im sure! 🥰

Wishing ALL our 'Farm Mums' a very happy weekend and special day tomorrow.

For some of us its a day of remembering our lovely mums, but for those who are staying with us, we hope you create many more precious memories with your families and have a fabulous time.

Its a super busy weekend here with some keen and eager 'farmers' arriving yesterday and we were lucky enough to also get one of our own 'farm team mums' pop by with their newest 'addition '....who can resist baby cuddles?...definately not Farmer Emily!!

Katy has proudly managed to add a second beautiful daughter to her family...meet Ruby Amelia Kim born 2 weeks ago after just a 4 hour labour!!
Mum and baby doing fabulously ( as you can see!)

For us the 'bottle feeding' and 'night duty' begins again in a couple of weeks as our re homed orphan lambs arrive looking for as many cuddles as we can give them so watch this space for 'fleecy updates' !!

Love to everyone from all the North Hayne team xx
