Last week, we celebrated a significant milestone as Southampton Science Park marked 40 years since its official opening by The Duke of Kent back in 1986!

To mark the occasion, we put up a balloon arch and gave away coffee and pastries to the first 40 customers in Fusion Café.

Over the past 40 years, we've supported hundreds of ambitious businesses, helping to create jobs, attract investment and strengthen the region's reputation as a centre for science, technology and innovation.

Here's to 40 years of innovation, and the exciting future ahead.

Two awards. One incredible community.

We’re absolutely delighted to share that Southampton Science Park has been named Commercial Landlord of the Year and South Coast Property Business of the Year at the South Coast Property Awards 2026.

For more than 40 years we’ve been supporting ambitious businesses, helping them start, scale and succeed. From start-ups taking their first steps to global organisations developing world-changing technologies, we’re proud to provide the environment, facilities and support they need to grow.

It has been fantastic to meet such an inspiring group of founders, each bringing innovative ideas, ambition and energy to the programme.

Over the next two days they'll be developing their businesses, building new connections and gaining practical insights to help them grow. We're already impressed by the calibre of talent in the room and can't wait to hear their pitches tomorrow.

Congratulations to Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance on the completion of its new airbase and charity headquarters at Southampton Airport.

It was fantastic to attend the opening and see first-hand the impressive new facility, which will help crews reach patients across the region even more quickly.

The £3.6 million project was made possible thanks to the support of more than 13,000 donors, businesses and organisations, demonstrating the incredible commitment our community has to this life-saving service.

By reducing response times and enabling crews to reach more patients faster, the new base will have a lasting impact on communities across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, helping to save and change lives when every second counts.

We wish the team every success in their new home as they continue their vital work across the region.

Right now, it's steel, glass and a vision.

Soon, Infinity Labs will be home to scientists making discoveries, researchers solving complex challenges and ambitious businesses building the technologies of tomorrow.

Every time we walk past, it's impossible not to imagine the groundbreaking work that will take place inside. The ideas being explored, the partnerships being formed and the innovations that could go on to make a real difference in the world.

For now, the scientists, technologists and innovators in these windows are just illustrations. Soon, they'll be the brilliant people who bring Infinity Labs to life.

In environmental psychology, Attention Restoration Theory explains how time in natural environments helps restore depleted cognitive resources, especially the kind of focused attention we rely on for deep work.🌱

First introduced by Rachel and Stephen Kaplan, the theory suggests that nature engages the brain in a more effortless way, giving it space to recover from constant demands and stimulation.

There is evidence to support it too. Research has linked access to green space with lower levels of stress, anxiety and depression, with even short periods outdoors making a measurable difference.

At the Park, those moments are right on your doorstep. A walk between meetings, a quiet pause, a reset. Sometimes, stepping away is exactly what helps you move forward.

Last week, the team headed down to Infinity Labs to catch up with Craig, Site Manager at Amiri Construction on, for the latest update on the development.

A big milestone has now been reached, with the glass installation underway and the building really beginning to take shape. It’s exciting to see the vision becoming reality and to get a first glimpse of the modern lab and office space being created for growing science and technology businesses.
