After yesterday’s work and catching up on messages, I found myself reflecting on why I do this job. Like anyone, negative comments can have an impact, but I always try to focus on the positives. A little kindness goes a long way, so if you don’t have anything constructive to say, please keep it to yourself 😊.

Today I was working in Spennymoor for three returning customers and one new customer. Today’s jobs included:

✅ Fitting x2 door handles with locks
✅ Supplying and fitting an outdoor light
✅ Supplying and fitting an outdoor socket
✅ Supplying and fitting x2 grab rails
✅ Replacing x2 isolating valves

Another great day, with more happy customers and jobs completed to a high standard.

I did have another job booked in, but it was a complete waste of my time. It’s rare that this happens, but it is why I ask many questions before making an appointment booking. So this doesn’t happen again 🤞.

One question I’m often asked is: Do you take on small or odd jobs?

The answer is yes.

I regularly undertake smaller jobs, including many that are under £100 in value. To provide an accurate quote, I simply ask for a few basic details:

* Photos of the job
* Measurements (where applicable)
* Your postcode

That’s all I need.

Providing this information allows me to quote accurately and ensure I arrive with the correct materials and tools to complete the job efficiently.

This approach helps me keep my costs low and continue offering affordable handyman services.

Unfortunately, I can no longer offer site visits to assess low-value jobs before quoting.
