The Prime Minister set out a new vision for technical education, creating pathways for young people from the age of 14.

At CATCH, in partnership with Healing Academy, we're proud to say we're already making that vision a reality.

This September, we will welcome our first cohort of Year 10 students from Healing Academy HLT onto an innovative two-year engineering programme that combines school education with hands-on technical training in a real industrial environment.

Students will gain practical experience operating process plant equipment, tackling engineering challenges, developing technical skills and working alongside industry, all while continuing their studies at school.

This programme has been developed with one clear ambition: to create a stronger talent pipeline into the Humber's industrial sector by giving young people earlier access to meaningful technical education and clear progression routes into apprenticeships and skilled careers.

Our partnership with Healing Academy has already seen students progress into apprenticeships at CATCH, and we're excited to build on that success with this pioneering new programme.

As national policy increasingly recognises the value of technical education, this partnership demonstrates what can be achieved when education and industry work together to prepare the next generation of engineers.

Our engagement team, Eve McIntosh and Brad Fox and tutors Carl Bee, Alan Stewart, and Harry Andrew supported by apprentices from enfinium, British Steel and Knauf are delighted to be attending the North East Lincolnshire Council Skills fair today at the Grimsby Auditorium. The team are looking forward to meeting and inspiring the next generation of CATCH apprentices and catching up with industry colleagues. See you there!
