British Steel re-opens its Apprentice Training Centre.

British Steel has re-opened their Apprentice Training Centre at its site in Scunthorpe as part of an ongoing commitment to skills development.

Working with CATCH, the centre has undergone significant upgrades, and is now ready to welcome back apprentices.

CATCH are proud of this ongoing partnership with British Steel, and look forward to seeing how apprentices progress during their time at both British Steel and CATCH.

With Spring now upon us, we’d like to take the opportunity to recognise and applaud our CATCH Apprentices and Scholar of the Month for March.

Decided by trainers and awarded for hard work, dedication and going above and beyond what is asked of them, an individual is selected from each cohort, dependent on who has best encapsulated what it means to be a model learner.

This month, we were fortunate receive sponsorship from Revolution Engineering Group for our Welder, Pipefitter, Metal Fabricator and ECITB Scholar of the Month, and have kindly provided prizes for the winners within these trades.

We are currently in a position to recruit a Welding, Pipefitting and Metal Fabrication Assessor to support apprentices reaching End Point Assessment, ensuring the high quality of the CATCH Apprenticeships Provision is maintained.

As an Apprentice Assessor you will work alongside the CATCH Apprenticeships Lead Assessor to ensure apprentices are prepared for their end point assessment and meeting the required milestones during their time on their employer sites.

This role will be based at the CATCH Facility in Stallingborough, with travelled to employer sites required.

We are currently in a position to recruit an Experience Electrical Trainer to support learning and operations for our new On-Site Apprentice Training Facility at British Steel.

As an Electrical Trainer you will work alongside the CATCH Apprenticeships Delivery Team to ensure the expert delivery of our Electrical Apprenticeship Programme, working both in a classroom and workshop environment.

This role will be based at the British Steel Site in Scunthorpe, with occasional travel to Stallingborough for meetings and CPD.
