📰 Tenant demand in the North West is well above the national average

The news: Rightmove's summer rental analysis, published on 24 September 2026, looked at July and August. It found an average of 11 tenant enquiries per rental across Great Britain, down from 12 last year and far below the 2022 peak of 28.

↖ The North West averaged 16, second only to Scotland's 19. Six of the ten most competitive towns are in the North West, with Birkenhead and Wallasey topping the list at 30 enquiries each. The national average asking rent was £1,580 a month. (Rightmove, Landlord Today, 25 Sep)
