The investment in Stockton on Tees is beginning to have visible effects on the riverside. This will bring the town centre up to a better standard and hopefully, bring in further investments in areas that need it most. Here at PLuSS we aim to improve the local community by making good investments in people, the wider community and the properties we are responsible for. We as members can have a positive impact on the focus areas of Stockton and Thornaby. Regeneration and collaboration is key to improving the area, the relationships and the income of our properties.
See the link below for a look at what Stockton council are doing in their regeneration project:

PLuSS has a wide range of experienced members to help and guide new members. The committee bring to PLuSS many different experiences and knowledge, who specialise in business, housing, and community. They, together with the wider community, and local landlords are aiming to improve the current situation in certain areas of Stockton where selective licencing is being recommended.

Update from the council about stockton council tax rebates. Please see the link for further details:

*** COUNCIL TAX ENERGY REBATE UPDATE ***

We’ve started making payments of the one-off £150 Council Tax Energy Rebate to Band A to D households that pay their Council Tax by Direct Debit.

We expect the first payments to land in people’s bank accounts from this Friday (April 22). They will be accompanied by the reference “SBC – COUNCIL TAX”.

We are processing payments as quickly as we can so please don’t call our contact centre if you don’t receive your payment straight away. You do not need to contact us in the meantime. We appreciate your patience.

You can find full details on our website at https://www.stockton.gov.uk/council-tax-energy-rebate

If you are in a Band A to D household and don’t pay your Council Tax by Direct Debit, you will not receive your rebate payment automatically.

To meet Government requirements, we will need you to apply for your rebate instead – we are working hard to get an application process in place as soon as possible and expect it to go live in May.

We will provide further details as soon as we have them.

The quickest and easiest way to receive your rebate is if you sign up to Direct Debit. Instructions on how to do that are included in the link above.

We appreciate that many households are eager to access this support, but we ask residents to please remain patient whilst we put in place all processes required to administer the scheme.

*** CHILDREN’S SPORTS CLOTHING WANTED! ***

Is your child’s cupboard full of unused sportswear? We want it!

The Council is looking for sports clothing and shoe donations to ensure children don’t miss out on the opportunity to take part in sport.

It’s all thanks to a new scheme, Kit out the Borough, which will help provide sports clothing for disadvantaged families across the area.

If you’d like to make a donation, you can do so by visiting Splash in Stockton, Billingham Forum, IB Leisure, Thornaby Pavilion and Thornaby Pool. Just look out for the Kit out the Borough bin!

Councillor Jim Beall, the Council’s Cabinet Member for Health, Leisure and Culture, said: “Sadly one of the barriers for children taking part in sport is simply not having the appropriate clothing to wear – and we want to put a stop to that.

“So if you’ve got any unwanted sports clothing which is in a good, usable condition, I’d urge you to donate it to the Kit out the Borough scheme.

“We’re looking for boys and girls clothing – and small adult clothing is wanted too!

“There are so many physical and mental benefits which come with regular exercise and this scheme will help open this door to more children in our Borough.”

Selective licensing has been introduced in different areas of the UK. WE are aiming to find a better way to deal with the issues that councils and police are struggling to tackle. Selective licensing targets property conditions, which is where being a member of PLuSS helps. All of our members have to follow stringent criteria in regards to their properties. See the implications of selective licensing in Birmingham:
