A picture perfect weekend in the Cotswolds.

🚙 Landrover Defender.
An 8am start is essential. This is the perfect time for uninterrupted photos of the timeless bridges, Arlington Row and The Swan Hotel. Plus it ensures a parking space right by the river.
The Twig opens at 9am. The creamiest flat white from a local coffee producer (Laura Wogan) and an extensive choice of hot breakfast toasties and sweet treats.
For a more formal setting try Eleven-founded by the very flamboyant Lawrence Llewelyn Bowen. This stunning building brings together a cafe, gallery shop and terraced garden.
For car enthusiasts-take the back roads home past this is situated on an old war air hanger base and stores and sells some of the most prestigious classic cars in the world.

The friends we hosted stayed in Rathbone Cottage in Stow on the Wold. Possibly the best location in the town with private parking and a beautiful, enclosed, sun trap garden.

We are spoilt for choice with delicious breakfast spots in Stow on the Wold but is my favourite!
By far the best cup of coffee around with real chocolate sprinkles on the cappuccino.

Not only mega portions at great prices but they also pride themselves on using local products like and on their breakfasts.

TOP TEN things to do in the Cotswolds in Stow on the Wold.
Visit Tolkein’s doors. The Church is hidden away behind the market square but is well worth the visit. Early this morning there was only one other couple there….all the way from Alabama.
Wander through the tiny narrow streets, originally for herding sheep into the market.
Pick up some local delicacies from The Cotswold Chocolate Shop.
Visit for essential Cotswold attire.
Grab a coffee . Be there for 9am because the cappuccinos are so good there is always a queue at the door.
Not quite Daylesford Farm shop however Lambournes butcher is an excellent artisan butcher with daily specials and local produce. The perfect place to pick up steaks for the bbq.
Pull up a bar stool at the oldest pub in England . The secret snug is the best place to escape the crowds.
Walk the road to the side of The Porch House which leads to the Sacred Spring the medieval, historical landmark. Probably best not to re fill your water bottle here!
Dine in the . They have the best seafood in the Cotswolds and the quirky interiors and superb service make it the ultimate date night spot.
Have sundowners . Right at the bottom of the town but the view over the rolling Cotswold hills in the distance is glorious.

This was quite literally one of the best dinner experiences I have had in the Cotswolds in over 20 years!!!.
Hidden away in St Michael’s Park in Cirencester is Josser Restaurant.
Every dish was exceptional and you really feel part of something special.

Is Daylesford really the most expensive farm shop in the entire country…YES!!
💰💰💰.
Don’t get me wrong, the fresh produce is unbeatable, the homewares are beautiful and inspire stunning table set ups but if you’re planning the weekly shop here make sure you take out a mini loan before you go.

One of Stow on the Wolds best places to frequent on a Thursday!
Why you’ll love it here:
The cutest bistro tables outside the front so you can watch the hustle and bustle of local life around the town square.
A beautifully designed dining space.
A proper Negroni…..yes…it was 4pm but their moto is ‘It’s never too early’.
Intimate spaces for a perfect date night.
A food menu that makes you want to order every dish!! The wild mushroom arancini followed by roast loin of lamb was the ultimate end to a perfect experience.
