After 16 years in property, there are certain things I’ve come to believe very strongly.

One of them is that memorable homes aren’t necessarily the biggest, most expensive or most beautifully decorated.

They’re the ones that make you 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗹 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴.

Sometimes it’s the light coming through a kitchen window. The way a room has been styled. A beautiful first photograph. A cosy corner. Or simply a home that’s been presented in a way that makes somebody imagine their own life there.

That’s why I believe so strongly in thoughtful presentation and considered marketing.

We’re not trying to make every home look the same.

It’s rarely the number of bedrooms alone.

Before a buyer ever steps through the door, they’ve already started forming an opinion of a home - often within seconds.

The photography catches their attention.
The presentation helps them connect with it.
The marketing creates enough curiosity to make them want to experience it for themselves.

After 16 years in property, one thing I’ve learned is that 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲’𝘀 𝗮 𝗯𝗶𝗴 𝗱𝗶𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝘁𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗽𝘂𝘁𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝗻𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗹𝘆 𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮 𝗵𝗼𝗺𝗲.

More photographs aren’t always better. More information isn’t always better. And showing every single corner of a property doesn’t necessarily encourage someone to book a viewing.

The aim is to give buyers enough to fall a little bit in love with what they see - 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗲𝗻𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝘄𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝗲𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁.

Because getting your property seen is only the beginning.

Every property is different, which is why my approach to staging is too.

Sometimes a few simple changes using what you already own are enough. For other homes, particularly empty properties, introducing furniture and styling can completely change how the space is perceived - both online and in person.

“𝗜’𝗹𝗹 𝘄𝗮𝗶𝘁 𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗹 𝘀𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴…”

It’s something I’ve heard countless times over my 16 years in property and I completely understand why. Spring has always been seen as 𝘵𝘩𝘦 time to put your home on the market.

But autumn is actually one of my favourite times to sell. 🍂

In my experience, we tend to see fewer casual viewers and more serious, motivated buyers. And as Christmas starts creeping closer, there’s often a real desire from both buyers and sellers to get things moving.

Your garden might not be in full bloom and the evenings might be getting darker but that doesn’t mean you’ve missed your moment.

There’s something really special about waking up to hot air balloons floating over the rooftops and this morning was insanely beautiful!

We’re so lucky to have such an incredible event hosted right here in our home town. Strathaven is already such a wonderful place to live, work and raise a family, but weekends like this are such a lovely reminder of just how special our community really is.

A huge amount of work goes on behind the scenes to make the Strathaven Balloon Festival happen, so wishing all of the organisers, volunteers, pilots and everyone involved the very best of luck for the weekend and a massive thank you for continuing to bring something so unique and memorable to our town.

Here’s hoping for plenty of balloons, blue skies and happy memories over the next couple of days. 🎈

Exchange day today, and it’s not quite over yet.

Not one, not two, but five sales settling across Lanarkshire. Some clients waited only a few weeks, while others have been on a journey lasting many months.

For some, today marks an exciting new chapter. For others, it’s the closing of one that’s been filled with memories. Property moves are never just transactions - they’re often tied to life’s biggest moments, both happy and difficult.

So today, we’re celebrating new beginnings, fresh opportunities, and dreams becoming reality, while also recognising that some goodbyes can be a little bittersweet.
