The moment I nearly quit estate agency…

In 2018, I went self-employed.

By 2020, I was burnt out and ready to walk away from estate agency altogether.

And I wasn’t the only one.

James experienced the same frustrations. We’d both seen what happens when agents are expected to manage huge volumes of stock while trying to deliver a genuinely great service.

So in 2021, we decided there had to be another way.

We built The Avenue around one simple idea:

You shouldn’t have to choose between being self-employed and delivering a premium service.

Agents deserve the freedom to build their own business, on their own terms, without having to compete on low fees and high volume.

And now, we’re lucky enough to help other agents do exactly that.

3 things I’d do today if I needed more opportunities for my business…

First, I’d call my network.
I’d go through my phone and message the people who already know me. I’d remind them what I do and ask who they know that I could help.

Second, I’d speak to my past clients.
Not to sell them something. Just to reconnect. Good relationships create opportunities long after the original transaction.

Third, I’d start more conversations.
With people commenting. People replying to stories. People asking questions. People who have been quietly following along.

Because generating business isn’t always about finding more people.

Sometimes it’s about paying more attention to the people already around you.
