🔥 Spring Chimney Safety Reminder 🔥
As we head into spring, you might see the jackdaws trying to build nests in chimneys. If you haven’t got a bird guard, you might want to think about getting one.
it’s the perfect time to check your chimney. Every year, we find chimneys packed full of sticks and nesting material from jackdaws and other birds. In one home, sadly, this caused a chimney fire.
Even if you’re not using your fire much right now, birds can still block the flue, which can become a real hazard. A blocked chimney can also cause dangerous gases like carbon monoxide to leak into your home. You’d be surprised at the things we’ve found blocking up chimneys over the years!
We always recommend having your chimney checked and swept before and after the main burning season — and especially before the birds settle in! We don’t sweep chimneys ourselves, but Gary is our “go to” recommendation Gary Payne - Approved Chimney Sweep Services
If you need a stove service or a quotation then we can help you.
