What is an EPC and what information does it contain?
An EPC is an Energy Performance Certificate on a property. An EPC is required if you are selling or letting a property.

The EPC gives a rating of the property between A-G. It will give recommendations as to how to increase the rating, and what this will mean in terms of cost and savings on energy.
The EPC gives buyers or tenants an idea of the cost of energy to run the house.

Increasing the efficiency of the property will increase the EPC rating and also add extra value to the property as well as decreasing the spend on energy.

The certificate is valid for 10 years, however if adjustments are made to the property it is recommended to get a new EPC to update the recommendations and the rating.

If you are letting a property the legal requirement is a minimum of an E rating.
