Spring is bringing new life to the fields, and our newest (and fluffiest!) arrivals are starting to make their appearance. If you’re staying with us over the coming weeks, keep an eye out for these little bundles of energy as you explore the estate.

There’s nothing quite like seeing them take their first wobbly steps, just one of the many special moments nature has to offer here at Killean.

🌿✨ Spring is just around the corner at Killean Estate ✨🌿

With brighter days on the horizon, why not start thinking about a visit to Killean Estate this spring? There’s nothing quite like a wander through fresh spring greenery, with hidden corners waiting to be discovered.

📸 Pictured here is our charming garden greenhouse, tucked away within the estate’s walled garden.

Back when Killean was a working estate in the 18th century, walled gardens were incredibly important. The high stone walls weren’t just for beauty, they created a sheltered, warmer microclimate that helped protect fruit, vegetables, and flowers from harsh winds and colder weather. Greenhouses were a real symbol of progress and prestige, allowing estates to grow delicate plants and extend the growing season well beyond what Scotland’s climate would normally allow.

As part of the estate’s wider long-term vision, we hold the hope that, in time, we may be able to see it thoughtfully brought back to life.
