Calling all gardeners/allotment holders etc. Do you need manure for your beds and borders?

We operate a 3-bay muck heap system - so while we are filling bay 3, we are digging out bay 1, and bay 2 is rotting, and so on. This means good, rotted horse manure is often available, absolutely FREE, in bags outside the yard gate. Alternatively, if you want to come and collect a larger load you can message us in advance.

**If you have any good strong plastic bags which would otherwise go to landfill, we can make use of them - the type that dry dog food comes in is ideal. If you’re passing, please leave them by the gate. Thank you 🙏

About nine years ago, we started planting a hedge at WYE. We’re currently having it laid - hopefully creating a stock proof boundary which will still be in place long after we have shuffled off this mortal coil! As well as shelter for our horses, it should provide a haven for birds and other small creatures, protect the soil, help mitigate against waterlogged soil/flooding, and store carbon. Plus it feels good to support a craft which might be in danger of declining. Yes, it’s expensive, but not as expensive as replacing the fence - and if you think about it over the lifetime of the hedge, it’s incredible value.
