We are looking for a caterer to run their business at Alice Bye Court, our Extra Care scheme in Thatcham. 🍽

Our café is the heart of the scheme and is a key facility for our residents and the local community.

You will have access to:
🍴 your own store cupboard,
🍴 two large fridges and one large freezer,
🍴 one large gas oven and a large hob area with gas rings,
🍴 drinks fridge and hot plate display area.
All utensils, pots, pans, cutlery, and crockery are provided.

We are an Extra Care scheme, which means our residents all live in one location, in their own property, with our care workers providing support when they need it. 💚

This means you don't need to travel from location to location; and all training will be provided if you are new to care.

Our Care Workers are:
💰 Paid by the hour, not by the job
👏 Receive benefits including Holiday Pay, Occupational Sick Pay, Maternity Pay and access to our Health Cash Plan*
💚 Can join our Extra Care Academy - support and training to progress into management

We're hiring Care Workers at Alice Bye Court in Thatcham.

What the role of Care Worker involves:

• Assisting residents with personal needs where necessary and appropriate e.g. getting up in the morning, washing / bathing and dressing; helping with un******ng and getting into bed in the evening.
• Providing assistance with household and domestic tasks, e.g. laundry, shopping, cleaning, and financial transactions such as paying bills.
• Making meals, drinks and snacks where necessary.
• Encouraging and enabling residents to follow agreed care plans.
• Keeping care managers, the service and key agencies informed about the wellbeing of residents and the progress of the care being undertaken.
• Shift Pattern: Days

What you need:

• No experience is necessary however a positive, can do attitude and a willingness to learn is a must
• To be kind and friendly
• Good written and verbal English communication skills
• Commitment to undertake necessary further training
• A friendly and caring approach
• A genuine desire to help people
• Reliability and flexibility
• The ability to use your initiative
• Ability to remain calm under pressure
• Must be available for flexible shifts
