Craigie Mac as part of the North of Scotland Referees Association is raising money for the Cash for Kids Mission Christmas appeal and along with Alex MacDonald, Craig is representing Caithness in the challenge.

It will run from the 28th of November to the 13th of December and along with the highland team they are going to cover 1,288 miles which is the distance between Inverness and Lapland with a stopover in Caithness for Santa.

NoSRA and the Caithness team hope you can spare any amount towards the challenge and support the very worthwhile cause.

Let’s see if the two Caithness members can better the 32 Highland Referees.

Follow the link below and let’s raise some money for a worthy cause 👊.

Times are tough right now for many and to help with this, we as the North of Scotland Referee Association are looking to raise some money for local charity and support a very worthwhile cause. We are looking to raise support and funds for the MFR Cash for Kids Mission Christmas appeal. Like many cha...

Looking for local farms to allow some drone footage to be taken as part of a small project with SAC Consulting Thurso

Aimed at using drones in relation to Animal Welfare, areas that would be helpful are:

1. Different livestock in fields – being checked overhead, moving, close up, in whins/braken
2. Fence lines/dykes – perhaps on a hill or an area not easily accessible
3. Buildings – checking structure, roofs, inside and out
4. Grassland areas – checking for flooded areas, bog or potential hazards for livestock (hill area perhaps?)
5. Drainage – channels, burns, streams
6. Rush areas or area of woodland that is not shut off – checking stock/lost stock
7. Water troughs – checking water is working
8. Feed Rings – if they need topping up, moved from poaching

Any help or info would be great.

Thanks

Reay Golf Clubs 6th Hole is “Braid’s Choice” as it was James Braids favourite hole on the course. It is 500 yards from the White Tee and 442 yards from the Ladies.

This hole shows the landscape that the course is built on with Reay Beach just on the fringe and the “Reay” Burn that runs round the 6th Green into the North Sea

Using Drones in Agriculture has drastically increased efficiency for farms and crofts with regards to gathering data, understanding the health of crops, planting accuracy and irrigation. Additionally it allows crofts to be more accurately scaled and divided in areas that before may have been difficult to map and access.
