❤️🤍💚 A Taste of Italy and a Touch of La Dolce Vita with Cristina! ❤️🤍💚

What a truly 'bellissima' afternoon we enjoyed here at the Manor as we celebrated the sights, flavours, and spirit of Italy with our wonderful Cristina! ❤️

Our conservatory was beautifully decorated with Italian bunting, instantly transporting everyone to the heart of Italy for an immersive cultural experience filled with laughter, creativity, and delicious food.

Residents treated their taste buds to a delightful antipasti selection featuring creamy mozzarella, sun-ripened olives, crispy breadsticks, and a variety of tasty cold meats... a real Italian feast! 🧀🥖🍇

The highlight of the afternoon was getting creative with our very own Venetian-style masquerade masks. Residents embraced their artistic flair, producing stunning designs bursting with colour, sparkle, and personality. The finished masks looked absolutely fantastic! 🎭✨

As we crafted and enjoyed our treats, we also learned some key Italian phrases, practising “Buongiorno” and “Arrivederci” like true locals. ❤️🤍💚

A huge thank you to Cristina for bringing a little piece of Italy to Devon and creating such a joyful, engaging, and memorable afternoon for everyone.

Sunshine, smiles, and soothing sounds ☀️🎶

Our residents enjoyed a wonderful handpan session today, relaxing to the calming rhythms and enjoying the peaceful atmosphere. Afterwards, everyone headed outside for a spot of sea watching, taking in the fresh air and keeping an eye out for boats and seaside wildlife. 🌊👀

A lovely afternoon filled with music, laughter, and the simple joys of nature.

🌺🌻🌼🌷The Darling Buds of May🌻 🥀🪻🌹

Today, our lounge was transformed into a florist’s workshop thanks to a generous donation from Sarah Gilbert, a local friend of the home. Sarah manages a magnificent 9-acre garden near Bovey Tracey and kindly brought in a variety of seasonal flowers for our residents to enjoy.

As Sarah prepares to open her garden to the public on the 6th and 7th June for the National Gardens Scheme to support nursing charities, our residents had the pleasure of working with her blooms to create stunning arrangements for our communal areas and their own rooms. Sarah had chosen Lily of The Valley and other beautifully scented flowers to create an uplifting sensory experience. The session was a highlight of the week, sparking wonderful memories of gardening and local history.

Thank you, Sarah, for bringing the outdoors in!

🌟 Employee of the Month - Holly!🌟

We’re delighted to celebrate Holly, our Lead Administrator, as this month’s Employee of the Month at Lincombe Manor Care Centre.

Now in her 12th year at Lincombe, Holly’s dedication and experience shine through in everything she does. If you’ve visited us, chances are you’ve been greeted by Holly on reception alongside her partner in crime, Karen. Together, they are the friendly faces that welcome you through our doors and help create that all important first impression.

Holly was kindly nominated by a resident and their family, who wanted to recognise her reliability and willingness to go above and beyond to help. It’s a true reflection of the care and support she offers every single day.

Behind the scenes, Holly works incredibly hard to ensure everything runs smoothly, supporting families with the technical and financial side of things, and always taking the time to offer reassurance and guidance when it’s needed most. She also has a special interest in mental health and has recently qualified as the home’s Mental Health First Aider, further strengthening the support she provides to both residents and colleagues.

When Holly was told about her award, she said:

💬 “I feel incredibly surprised and truly grateful to have been nominated for Employee of the Month. There are so many people who do amazing work here, so this really means a lot. Working in admin, we’re often behind the scenes, so to be recognised in this way is very special to me. I absolutely adore our team, our residents, and their families, and it’s a privilege to listen to your stories and support you however I can.”

Holly, thank you for your continued commitment over the years and for the warmth you bring to Lincombe Manor each and every day 💛👏

Happy St George’s Day 🎊

Today we celebrate England’s patron saint, St George. He was a Roman soldier known for his bravery and is best remembered in legend for defeating a dragon, a story that came to symbolise courage, honour, and standing up for what is right. His story has been part of English culture for centuries and St George’s Day has been celebrated in England since the medieval period.

It is a day to appreciate our history, our traditions, and the communities that make this country what it is.

Wishing everyone a proud and happy St George’s Day 🌹

Bringing Spring Indoors at Lincombe Manor 🌷🎨

There was a lovely feeling of spring in the air at Lincombe Manor as our residents spent the afternoon painting and creating their own beautiful tulip basket.

With soft colours, gentle brush strokes, and plenty of creativity flowing, each basket slowly came to life. Some chose bright, cheerful shades while others went for more delicate, pastel tones, but every piece reflected a little bit of its creator’s personality.

The room was calm and cheerful, filled with conversation, shared ideas, and quiet moments of focus. It was not just about the finished baskets, but the simple joy of creating something by hand and welcoming the new season together.

By the end of the afternoon, we had a collection of gorgeous tulip baskets that truly brought spring into Lincombe Manor. A wonderful reminder of how creativity can brighten both our space and our spirits. 🌸✨

Getting Crafty and a Little Bit Messy at Lincombe Manor Care Centre 🎨🏺

We enjoyed a truly creative afternoon as our residents took on a fun and unusual challenge, turning simple posy vases into textured pieces of art using pistachio shells.

It was one of those delightfully messy moments where the glue guns were in constant use and paint seemed to end up everywhere. With sticky fingers, colourful splashes, and plenty of laughter, the room was full of energy and focus.

There is something so satisfying about taking natural materials and transforming them into something beautiful for the home. Even with the mess and a few glue strings along the way, the finished vases looked absolutely stunning, each one full of texture and character, ready to hold some lovely spring flowers. 🌸✨

A big well done to our residents for embracing the mess and reminding us all that sometimes the best creations come from a little bit of chaos.
