Where the Trees Meet the Seas – Wednesday 7 October 2026
What a fascinating and inspiring day with PlantOnel. 🌿
A huge thank you to Plant One for bringing everyone together, and to Dr Ian Hendy and Dr Tony Kendle for such interesting and thought-provoking talks. We learnt so much about the importance of our woodlands and the wider environment.
We also heard from Merlin Hanbury-Tenison about the work of the Thousand Year Trust and the exciting new Atlantic Temperate Rainforest Research Station being built at Cabilla Valley – a really inspiring vision for the future of research and conservation.
We were also treated to previews of some fascinating films, including The Dragonfly and the Beast, which is currently being crowdfunded, and LAMO AURU – Old Forest, New Lines, exploring the extraordinary forests of Papua New Guinea.
The day also included a wonderful Mythical Walk with Sam Crosby, which offered a beautiful and peaceful opportunity to experience the woodland and its surroundings.
Congratulations too to the newest Mighty Oak Guardians, and thank you to The Mindful Chefette for providing such a lovely lunch.

What a lovely evening at the Cornwall Beaver Project at Woodland Valley Farm with Kernow Conservation CIC and Cornwall Wildlife Trust.

The evening featured the premiere of their new film, Water Guardians, which tells the inspiring story of the return of beavers to Cornwall after an absence of over 400 years.

The film was excellent, but we have to admit the beautiful beavers themselves completely stole the show!

If you get the opportunity to watch Water Guardians, we would highly recommend it. We believe there will be more screenings, so keep an eye on Kernow Conservation and Cornwall Wildlife Trust's social media pages for updates.
