Hang in there is not a strategy. It is an excuse.
If your home has sat all summer, you have probably been told to be patient. It is the school holidays. Everyone is away. It will pick up in September. Maybe that is true. Or maybe it is a comfortable excuse that keeps you waiting while nothing changes. So ask yourself one question. Are you getting viewings but no offers? If you are, it is almost never the season. It is the price, or the photos, or both. A good agent will not hide behind the calendar. They will look you in the eye and tell you what is really going on, even when hang in there would be the easier thing to say. You do not need more patience. You need the truth.
If your agent keeps saying it is just the summer, ask them one thing.
Every summer, sellers get told the same line. Be patient, it is the holidays, it will pick up in September. And sometimes that is true. But sometimes it is just the easiest thing for an agent to say, because the honest answer is more awkward. So test it. Are you getting viewings but no offers? Then it is probably not the season at all. It is the price, or the presentation. A good agent tells you that straight, instead of hiding behind the calendar for another six weeks. Do not settle for hang in there. Ask for the truth.
