In this project in Bridge of Don, Aberdeen, we completely transformed the layout to create a modern, more practical bathroom.

Moving a toilet is usually difficult, but the way this house was built meant we could reposition it in the opposite corner. This freed up the space in front of the window, allowing us to create a very large wetroom area — 900mm wide by 1700mm long — with an illuminated recess at the end.

The shower area features hexagonal tiles with white grout, paired with a black concealed shower. The controls were positioned outside the main spray area, making the shower easier and more comfortable to use. We also fitted an extractor fan at the end of the wetroom area to improve ventilation.

For the rest of the room, we used white tiles: 600x600mm on the floor and 1200x600mm on the walls. Larger tiles mean fewer grout lines, which makes the bathroom easier to clean. To take this even further, we used epoxy grout for better durability, water resistance, and long-term performance.

The black towel radiator matches the other bathroom fittings and was installed with pipework coming neatly from the wall. Opposite the radiator, we fitted custom-built units, using a narrower unit around the toilet and deeper units around the sink area. The sink section also includes drawer storage, making the space more practical for everyday use.

The ceiling was finished with low-maintenance UPVC panels and fitted with downlights for a clean, bright finish. https://claudestradesmen.co.uk/bathroom-into-wetroom-bridge-of-don-aberdeen/

This was a complete bathroom redesign in Cults, where we reworked the layout to make the space much more practical and comfortable for our customer.

The original layout was awkward and difficult to use, so the best solution was to create a wetroom-style shower. As our customers are tall, we also increased the ceiling height above the shower area by making use of the empty space above the existing ceiling.

A key part of this project was the custom-built furniture. This worked particularly well because the previous bath had been recessed into a niche, so we needed a smart way to make full use of that space. The bespoke units allowed us to maximise storage while keeping the room looking neat and balanced. We also built recessed niches into the shower area for extra practicality.

The room was finished with 600x600 floor tiles, 600x300 wall tiles, and 600x300 feature tiles on the mirror wall. We also fitted an LED mirror, a radiator with pipework coming neatly from the wall, and a slightly narrower toilet unit so the furniture could fit the space perfectly. https://claudestradesmen.co.uk/bathroom-to-wetroom-redesign-cults/

This was a full refurbishment where we replaced the bath with a walk-in shower and upgraded the units to improve storage and make the bathroom more practical for everyday use.
One of the main issues with this bathroom was the lack of useful storage, so the new layout was designed to make better use of the available space while creating a cleaner, more modern finish.
The walk-in shower makes the room feel more open and accessible, while the fitted units provide a much neater solution for toiletries, cleaning products, and everyday bathroom essentials. The result is a brighter, more comfortable bathroom that is easier to use, easier to clean, and far better suited to the customer’s needs.

This was a slightly more complex project, where we extended the bathroom into a nearby cupboard and also used part of the hallway to make the bathroom larger.

We particularly like these transformations, as they improve everyday life the most. From a tiny bathroom, the customer now has a modern bathroom with plenty of storage, modern features, easy cleaning, and a large shower.

These are the projects we love undertaking the most.

The bathroom is packed with features, including:

Tiled flooring with underfloor heating: Great for winter, with a cosy floor underfoot.

L-shaped units: Maximising the storage space.

Black countertop basin with wall-mounted filler: A very modern approach.

Black toilet: Matching everything else.

Large towel radiator with pipes from the wall: Heating the room in a heartbeat when necessary.

Black downlights: To match everything else.

LED mirror with magnifying section: Great for make-up, shaving, or destroying a pimple.

Recesses: Perfect for toiletries in the shower.
