Did you know that as a landlord holding personal data on your current or past tenants in an electronic format, you have to be registered with the Information Commissioners Office? Private landlords are classed as a business and are covered under the GDPR regulations.

Any business or sole trader who processes personal information must register with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) under the Data Protection Act 2018 and failure to register is a criminal offence.

With people spening more time at home and doing more home cooking we are seeing an increase in mould and condensation issues in properties. Whilst there may be a cause such as a leaking pipe or roof the majority of condensation issues are down to lifestyle and how the equimpent int he property is used.

Some hope for the self employed - when it eventually arrives.

Chancellor Rishi Sunak announced a new self-employed income support scheme, comprising a taxable grant worth 80% of their average profit over the last three years. The scheme will be open for three months and will be extended if needed.
