THURSDAY STAGING TIPS - BEDROOMS

You may have guessed by now that my pet peeve is rubbishly made beds so here are some tips on how to make your bedroom look like a sanctuary.

🏠 Make your bed like you live in a hotel. You may have had your pillows for 20 years and you may think that they are the comfiest thing you've ever slept on but flat pillows are not selling the dream. The Range and B&M often have 2 pillows for less than a tenner so if you're in the flat pillow brigade then treat yourself to some show pillows. The same goes for lumpy duvets. We don't want people trying to work out if the vendors were actually still in bed when the photographer was taking the photos! If you don't want to buy a new duvet then buy a bedspread which should make it look a bit flatter (IKEA and JYSK have good ones that won't cost the earth).

🏠 If you have room then it's always a good idea to have a bedside table, or shelf, (with lamp) on each side of the bed. Symmetry is pleasing to the eye and it just makes a room look more polished. Having just one bedside table highlights the fact that there might not be room for two, which in turn can make the room look like it's a bit squished.

🏠 Nothing screams 'NOT ENOUGH STORAGE' than things piled on top of wardrobes. You may indeed not have enough storage, or you may just have too much stuff, either way it needs to be hidden somewhere else.
