Gluten free bakery opens in Wakefield city centre 🍞
Vickers Carnley are pleased to confirm that a letting has been agreed to ‘Unglutened Baker’ who now occupy 7 Cross Street, in the heart of Wakefield city centre. Unglutened Baker is Wakefield’s first gluten free bakery to hit the high street. The inspiration behind the shop comes from owner, Carlo and his wife Amy who for years have being unable to find affordable good quality gluten free items. With more and more people requiring gluten free food, Carlo and Amy came up with the idea to cater for the market and with determination, opened their business providing freshly made bread, cakes, pastries and other delicious goods. All bakes are made on site by Carlo, who previously has a cheffing background, along with the rest of his team. Since opening their doors, the bakery has seen queues out of the door for people ready to get their hands on gluten free goods.
Carlo and Amy have plans to expand their business to online orders hopefully in the near distant future.
Vickers Carnley acted on behalf of the landlord, Woodhead Investments & Developments Ltd, to secure the letting of 7 Cross Street. Woodhead Investments quote “we are amazed to see how popular Unglutened are, so quickly after opening. They must be doing something right! Good luck to them for the future. We will be going to try some of their produce very soon, we just hope there’s something left on the shelves when we get there”!
